I got the numbers off the engine 2536430-6 date 4/67 I looked up those numbers and it appears to be a 440? Is that correct? He told me he thought it was a 383 but now I think he is wrong?

I believe it is 4 and a 67, but not familiar with the engine number lay out meaning?

I forgot to add on the last reply. The vin number on the car contains a G which I believe means the car came with a 383, but I don't know if it is a High output ? The last 6 numbers of the vin on the car are 277628 , so I don't think this engine is the one that came with the car? Any assistance...

Thank you. I was able to get the seller to send me a pic of the number on the engine(see attached). Is it possible to determine the engine type/date from the pic? The numbers are 2536430-6 and it appears to have the date stamp?
