If we could get that we should be able to get the same gas we had in the 70's.. IF im remembering right.. seems funny to have the fuel company's thinking on this but there isint enough "gasoline" to give to us? What am i missing here with the whole picture... im sure im off in some way.

Thanks for the links pops... I forget right off hand what model number i have but i do know its on the bottom left mounting hole, mine needs rebuilt and tuned... Its a 625 if im thinking right.. Carter is a great carb!
Sounds like you have a problem with the needle not seating properly (possible dirt particle) or your float is set wrong, here is a link that should help you with it..

If your engine is stock original id guess 375 at about 4600 rpm This is just my guess at it. So much depends on what, if anything you've done or had done to the engine, headers alone will add to HP.
Im not at this time running the 440 but having used both Carbs on a few different cars one being a 383 the Holly worked great on it . The Holly seem to love all out going that, ive found out and like everyone says the Eddy is, ill put it more user friendly. Holly would be my pick, and depending...
Hope it will stay that way for ya but honestly, you may want to think of a carb surgery fixer upper kit on a shelf just in case. Good luck,, at least its ah-runnin!!!
UPDATE: Got the kit, The only parts that were the same is the ones i needed most, The float seats ect. and the plunger which was a little different but it worked fine. havent tryed to run it yet but I WILL feel better one of these days but i am wonderin if ill be verticle at the time...Thanks...
9637 I believe is just an aftermarket 625 AFB. Should be able to get a kit at any good parts house or from Summit.
