    Hissing from “Rebuilt” brake booster

Kind of odd as in my experiences there’s been issues with a pre-load, can be caused by the pedal ‘home’ position binding against the brake-light switch. These hassles were the reverse of what you mention. I’d check to make sure there is some free play in the home position. Yeah, other check...

    Vibration in Steering

Also have a ’63 Fury and has the FFII setup. Of course, vibrations can come from a wealth of sources, but saying you had this before doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the new install. Likely not your hassle, but thought I’d toss this out. After the FFII, I started noticing an odd vibe...

    Want oversteer.

Hit a tree with your go-cart? Did that too, into a thick-prickly pine tree, would have been helpful to have reverse. No idea about OS or US; but I know it did with stupidity.

1965 Coronet rear drivers wheel hot to touch after drive

Was thinking the same looking at the greasy grit not giving any indication of bearings being replaced. Lol, get to talking about green bearings, you’ll find a mile long thread(s) on them. I went with greens and on the 2nd set, so far so good, BUT given a do-over I’d have just kept things alone...

1965 Coronet rear drivers wheel hot to touch after drive

As posted (#7) axle-end play tolerance. The adjustment wouldn’t be messed with unless removing axles or replacing the bearings that haven’t been done. Elementary; but a dying bearing will give off a growling or whirring noise, more difficult to detect if having a loud exhaust, but as it keeps...

    Power Brake Disc Conversion

Installed a kit from SSBC having numerous hassles and at first, they were responsive; but not too helpful. Eventually, go figure, they stopped responding to my messages. The MC and booster are GM, had to replace both along the route of getting good brakes. Had to machine a section of new...

Free play in power brake systems.

Maybe not your hassle, and something you’ve already checked; but with my conversion, had to do quite a bit of adjusting the pedal rod – rod to the booster. My case was converting manual to power involving a variance with pedal ratio. Sure you know a bit of free play is necessary to ensure that...

    Dot 5 mixing

Had ample experience with engineers of one specialty or the next, having debated with them on one thing or another over the decades. The ones I usually had some, lets say ‘issues’ with, were those that never collected any dirt under their finger nails, often all college ‘smart’ never working in...

    Dot 5 mixing

Nice idea; but if it's alright, please use it on your ride first, not mine..

    Dot 5 mixing

Something I've not been aware with dot 5 not harming paint.

    Front Disk Conversion Grabby Brakes

This booster gap gauge is very handy, saves a lot of futzing trying to obtain the measurement. Was your conversion from manual to power brakes? Ask as if it was, there is the pedal ratio adjustment involved. This can involve resetting the pedal linkage connection at the pedal arm. Also if...

    Brake Confusion

Brake conversions can be a bee-itch, I know. Could be any of a ton of things. It can be difficult to toss over advice telling you what you have already done like bench bleed. Rubber hoses? The rear line if it’s aged could be a problem collapsing under pressure. On occasion, the t-block on the...

Steering center link not parallel to the chassis?

Yeah, was concerned about getting china stuff; mobileparts said he has a USA supplier so went with him. Have to wonder given Black-Sheep's post above, if there wasn't a shimming need, but glad to say new pitman got the results. So far so good anyway..

Steering center link not parallel to the chassis?

I had a similar problem, cocked center link, after rebuild and FFII install. When the car was driven for a good while, I'd hear a tone like a tuning fork when moving the wheel. Got the car up on my jacks and found the pitman zerk sheared off, marred T-bar, and link playing the violin on the...

Recommendation for online store - Brake Booster

Got mine from Summit. After a long wait from Jeg's who lied to me about the item being 'in stock' cancelled that order. Verify they have it in stock...wherever you want to buy it..

    Rear Drums Drag

Do you have a FSM? There are good details in it to double check.

    Rear Drums Drag

Sorry, my goof - I see the guide now. Looks a bit different than my setup.

    Rear Drums Drag

'65 - I replaced the axle/housing on my '63 to a '65 Coronet. There's a guide, a curved plate that cable is supposed to run around and down to the adjuster lever; a tight fit to have no slack on that cable.

    Rear Drums Drag

Must be a '65/later rear installed? Also appears as though a cable is missing for the self-adj? It runs to the star lever...maybe can't see it in the photo..
