'62 Dart - OEM Steering Wheel?

Pretty much identical to the one in my '63 Fury.

'62 Dart - OEM Steering Wheel?

The ’61 wheel was something – the Jetson’s like. Had done some checking on the history of these wheels a while back, which models had them. Found no info about this one in a ’62 Dart. Some were disappointed when Mopar dropped them. People liked the flat bottom wheel getting in and out of the...

'62 Dart - OEM Steering Wheel?

A fellow member had posted this photo of a '62 Dart wagon pertaining to another topic. When I saw the rectangular steering wheel was surprised as I wasn't aware of this wheel being a stock item on the '62 Darts? Ma Mopar had these unique wheels for a few years; but didn't think they were on...

Got the new Polara Bear home yesterday.......

Was AMAZED how nice my ’63 steered after install of a FFII box, must be better than it drove off the assembly line, tight, no wander. Of course 'proper' alignment and nice rubber is part of it. There are other boxes recommended by fellow members, but been happy with this one.

    Convertible quarter panel question

Body stiffening for verts, spot-welded. As such, didn’t mess with trying to remove them during restoration I did in prep for later body work/paint. This is a CA car never seeing salt; but there were a couple spots needing cut out and pieces welded back in, one of them was along a section L-side...

    REPLACEMENT STEERING WHEEL

The wheels available are cool, but when I get into my time machine, MO, like the feel of that old skinny wheel in my fingers…exactly as they were back when.

    REPLACEMENT STEERING WHEEL

I restored the original oval wheel in my '63 and after some 15 years, experimenting now with something different from the unique features Ma Mopar had back in the era; a rectangular wheel from a Chrysler. Got a deal on this one in very good condition and being the right color. Next is to check...

Older PB’s didn’t have Park, my uncles had a couple of those – ’57 DeSoto and ’58 Dodge and would leave it in a gear applying the parking brake – being ‘park’. Not so great, MO. Had more than one vehicle (couple of manuals) where best have it set fully and good brakes. Mentioned in an earlier...

Yeah - I've heard the handles - typewriter drive, punch box, and go-buttons. There are a couple of members on here that are walking encyclopedias on these tranny's not recalling their names offhand, maybe they will catch these posts and reply. One I think is Dave having a '64 with a photo...

Watched the entire video and a good education. Wish he would do one putting it back together or I could watch the vid in reverse, lol. There’s a member on here having a wicked ’64 moving the buttons to the righthand side doing a nice video drag racing. Much as I relish 4-speeds, the button shift...

    64 Only

I have a ’63 having added a couple of features that were available on police cars including a sway bar. I wasn’t aware of a 150 MPH speedo though? Installed a ’62 dash as I liked the looks better than the ’63 ranch gauges. Anyone know if 150mph speedo’s existed back then for this car in a police...

See torqueflite on the door. Being a pushbutton fan, having one, seem to recall the SS’s came with a manual VB with the first and drive buttons reversed? When I occasionally get to shifting mine manually watching the tach, like the idea of pushing downward rather than up in the direction of N or...

Another stupid "What's it worth" post

It is a unique Plymouth being a SF and if a factory 4-speed. As posted, degree of rust. If it has been sitting on unpaved ground rusting can be extensive. When I restored my first car I had it sitting outside for 18 months (no place to put it back then) and the rust expansion just during that...

Difference Between a '62 Dodge and Plymouth Trunk

That does look great. If I run into reworking the parking lenses, great to know. Looked around tons of sites looking for those damn gaskets. NONE unless buying the whole assembly for hefty cost and my assembly is in nice shape. Was miffed hey finding how different the sizes were! Started...
