To shroud or not to shroud...

In my hunt to lower engine temp I found an OEM shroud my car had as a fleet package/AC. I installed this. Went from a 4-blade to 7 fan. Did several other things though, getting the desired result before opting for a larger radiator. Got a bit concerned about after-market shrouds reading some...

Should you save old parts or sell them?

Ironically a member living about 3 hours away, had asked if I still had the exhaust system from my ’63 with the Flowmaster mufflers. I had it removed so that it could be reused and it maybe was on the car for 300-400 miles before restoration and new exhaust with headers. Posted it a few years...

    Engine oil questions

I get to drive my '63 1200 miles or so each season, change it every spring when I'm waking it up after a winter sleep. Having solid lifters I use hi-zinc oil VR-1 10/30. Ran 20/50 for awhile finding it wasn't necessary having goofy high oil pressure and along the read about higher vis motor...

    My Brakes are FINALLY fixed!!

Moving from manual to power disk (front) seemed to be my biggest hassle. The problems encountered defied some logic to me, questioning that, but it did a car buddy too throughout the ordeal. Reflecting on the luxury of having do-overs, I would have bought a different kit; but one of those...

    My Brakes are FINALLY fixed!!

Having had some endless hassles doing the brake conversion on mine, know the frustration you went through. Glad to hear you have brakes.

    oil pressure gauge

I’ve found no nicer compliment than when someone says “Looks like it belongs there”…like your under dash gauges do. Sweet.

    oil pressure gauge

That’s pretty neat setup for extra gauges having a console. Did something similar for my ’63. Found an old leather console at a swap meet for 10-bucks. Had it sitting in the loft for years as a possibility before restoration. I sold an OEM console along the way having it in the car for a few...

    oil pressure gauge

Installed a couple extra gauges in a modified console having space for them. One was an oil gauge. I bought a dual feed sensor electric, preferring not to run an oil line into the cabin and the idiot light stays intact.

Should you save old parts or sell them?

LMAO! Oly chit, I’d need to give away everything I own to make up for the offenses I’ve committed. That’s only the ones I know about.

Should you save old parts or sell them?

Think this is an interesting discussion hearing about what members suggest or think here. You have a lot of new members who might not know all the rules yet. Some new-be might get real excited about a part they need badly being mentioned and not be aware. Could this reminder work? If anyone...

Should you save old parts or sell them?

Yeah, it pains me sometimes hauling stuff to the scrap yard knowing some one is out there somewhere that could use them, maybe having limited cash where getting this stuff cheap or free would make their day. Just sent an ancient mopar part to a guy overseas for the cost of mailing it. Still kind...

Should you save old parts or sell them?

In my case perspectives have changed due to getting old-older. The “I could make use of this someday” days are mostly behind. Have ample space to stow stuff I didn’t have when young and more cash where today selling it doesn’t mean much including the extra hassle trying to sell. I also get tired...

Coolant water frozen - what next?

Questioning the rule some tracks may have on anti-freeze, being one to search for some sarcasm or humor, I’d be inclined to ask about engine and transmission oil – “Do I need to drain the oils before I race?”

Yeah, that would be a FBBO neighbor like sort a thing to do huh..

Coolant water frozen - what next?

Had done research about engine temps by reducing (not eliminating) the anti-freeze mix. I’ve run around 30% for the last few years with wetter; though my car is in a heated garage. Straight water isn’t a good idea as it can rust up the engine innards.

    Used car advice

Yes, I know. I’m sure Honda fixed it. After all the hassles and worries for my kid living far away in Miami for a couple years wanting to keep hers, despite my wanting to get her something else. Lol, I’m still pissed at Honda by the way they treated me plus giving me their complete BS story. My...

    Used car advice

My daughter loves her ’06 CVR, much more than I do. I found it for her several years ago. It was low mileage and in nice shape overall. One of the features she wanted was a side opening rear door for hauling her dogs around. This was several months before she was moving to Miami so got the best...
