Little doubt you will love the sound. I had no complaints with how nice they sounded. And may sound nicer on your BB. I have a vert and the noise that goes with it. It’s actually quieter with the top down than up, lol.
System I have is TTI including headers. Initially had flow master 50’s. They sounded nice; but too loud for me despite all the sound deadening. I asked members what they recommend and several said the hemi mufflers through Accurate so got those. Pricy, but worth it MO. Still a lot of sound, but...
Of all the muscle cars I’ve heard (and a few I had) having a stock exhaust, the RR/GTX was the best sounding of all, MO. Buddy had a ’69 GTX back in the day that sounded sweet, nice tone, not obnoxious, but enough to make a statement.
You will find tons of chat about this searching the forum. Tons. Muffler selection reminds me of reading a menu at a Greek restaurant. Had FM 50’s that sounded nice; but too loud. A few members suggested hemi mufflers pretty much a factory sound/level and went this route as I didn’t want to fork...
There’s been more posts I think on reducing the sound, drone, and obtaining a nicer sound…I’ve participated in some. I had FM 50’s on my car that sounded cool; but too loud especially cruising. (I have headers/X pipe.) There are endless selections to be had and you can find video links from...
I got talked into 3” exhaust on my pepped up poly rebuild with TTI headers and X. A mistake. Longer story as I did some researching should have done sooner. Oversize exhaust robs HP. 3” is generally for motors exceeding 450 HP. I’m around 100 shy. Installed hemi mufflers replacing the 50...
LOL, you sound like a guy who's been through this enough times...I have more than I care to count too: I do the cussing, drinking beer, hunting down all the tools I got; but never thought about going around it counter clock wise...I was going around clockwise...
On this topic, just had the Accurate hemi mufflers installed and pretty happy with those; certainly quieter, though quite not as much as I was expecting. I didn't want to get too quiet anyway. The headers, 3" and X might be a reason. I'll be selling my FM 50's as they have all of about 3k on...
I have the 50's on mine with 3"/headers...I DO like how they sound and get many compliments - but - too loud cruising at 2800 rpm and there's some intermittent drone that occurs when they feel like it, lol.
Yeah - forgot you have the Dart, my car is a '63 Fury. The 50's are 17" case and the hemi's are 20" so had the car on a lift to to see about fitting and looks to be an ok insert. I couldn't go with resonators, no room with the big pipes, but that's a nice option if they can be fitted. I'm not...
I have FM 50's on mine (3", X, and headers) that sound cool; but too noisy with some droning. Depends on how much sound one prefers; but after a long study, I ordered the Hemi mufflers from Accurate Exhaust. Several forum members recommended them. Searching for mufflers is like reading a menu...
I have FM's with an X pipe, 3", and headers; I'm in the process of dumping the mufflers and right now kind of set on Accurate Exhaust (drop down to 2.5 inlet/outlet) after looking at a dozen different mufflers to choose from. There are some that sound good (pun also intended) but looks as...
Selecting mufflers is akin to reading a menu at a Greek restaurant! You want to settle on what amount of sound you want. As I'm searching for mufflers with a lower degree of noise (have Flow Masters now) you may want to hear some sound clips from the mfg's. This is still some guessing and the...
Yep - I waited 4 months for a booster (one I ordered never did arise so ordered a different one) and about the same for deck lumber materials last year. Ordered the lumber early (mid-March) so I wouldn't be doing the new deck surface in July/August hoping to get it done in May/June. Nope - did...
Reminds me of a story with a shop I worked at before I left and it eventually went to **** being closed by the IRS. Since the remaining owner (partnership broke up) he lost his line of credit being a dumbass and their #1 customer for 20 years wanted some parts machined. The customer bought the...
