I don't think he was rude. No one on the internet can pull the jets out to check size and make sure all the carb adjustments are correct for you.
The carb you have will work well on your application, however no one can tell you what it might need unless there is a baseline established first...
Originals were made in Canada and had the part number stencilled on them. Just go to Tommy Chrycos site and order a correct reproduction. Most likely price is half what flippers sell original rusted and cut ones for.
440-6 pack - Tommy The Chryco
TQ is a great carb when they're in good shape and tuned correctly. These days you have much better luck getting a Six Pack dialed in plus you can find the small tuning pieces you need for the Holleys.
For a street car the six pack runs mostly on the 350CFM middle carb giving nice throttle response and good fuel economy. All 3 carbs come in at 940CFM when measured the same way as 4 bbls are. I'd jump on it for $800 in a minute, they sound great when they open up, give a nice even pull and you...
You can save a few bucks by painting your stock cast iron intake silver instead of springing for the Edelbrock Performer intake though. Honestly he has probably the best dual plane intake in that CH4B, I would clean it up and throw an 800 AVS on it if it were mine. If you just have to buy...
Tim builds good stuff and I would expect his EFI to be top notch.
I did build a car for a friend though with a 572 Hemi. We initially ran dual AFB's on it with absolutely no problem, then changed to good old Fitech and of course had EFI reliability issues. I moved away but my friend then bought...
If it was me I'd put on at least an 850 double pumper. A lot less complicated getting that to run right than a stock dual AFB setup with their staggered jetting.
The only downside to an electric pump is noise. I think they are almost a necessity these days with tons of camshaft failures and the modern gasoline formulations.
I would mount the carb to a manifold and gently tap the bowls off. Tapping a loose part softens the tapping action. You'll need new gaskets, just the way it is. I too like to retain the Holley colour and am pretty careful about using any fluids that might damage the finish.
Or just hack a 68 and up factory (GM, Ferd, Chryco) 4 bbl base. You need the air filter to match up top and bottom though, so check that measurement.
Here's another alternative if you want to spend cash.

OSAC valve I think that is called, You're lucky it's there. I set the connector linkage so the front carb reaches full (wide open) throttle the same time as the rear carb.
