Meh: Have to paint the hood and the rest of the paint isn't finished. Needs wheels, tires, bigger engine. Too high I think. Take a magnet with you if you go to look at it.
For me that's what it's all about. After about 40 years new cars finally got better than the 70 era cars but the old ones take you back to simpler/better times and it feels great to take them for a drive.
Maybe, I'd love to see the new pieces, I'd love to see some of the discoed pieces though as well. You wouldn't think it would cost much to press something that they already have the dies for, hard to say what goes on overseas I guess.
I agree. You can have a 68-69 Runner in primer, with dents and mismatched wheels and it still looks pretty tough. If you have a 71-4, first thing you need on it is wide and fairly tall tires to fill up the wheel wells. Then it has to sit right and it can't be faded brown or faded green like so...
Only car I regret selling. I've owned Hemi cars from all generations E's and B's, This is the car that was nicest to drive and felt the best at speeds at twice the legal limit.
Was really ugly though right?
I like the more aerodynamic styles and that's what attracts me to 70-71 Challengers and 71-2 B-bodies. I vividly remember sitting in my 69 GTX in the garage parked next to my 71 Charger R/T and thinking how unmodern the 69 felt with it's higher profile, vent windows, exposed wipers sitting on...
Really I like them all. From the 62 cars right up until the 80's. If you were there then you know there were different cars for different times. When I see guys that only like 68 Chargers or 71 Cudas though, it just reminds me of the red Camaros that were in Car Craft and Hot Rod in every issue...
