That looks great. I bought a 75 Road Runner new with a 400X4 single exhaust. I went to a few shops and finally found one with a guy that said he could bend a left tailpipe around the big tank. He did a great job and it never rattled or rubbed.
Agreed: Mine was a 400, 4 bbl, single exhaust. Dual exhaust got the smaller gas tank. Not sure why they offered the single exhaust. I finally did find a good muffler guy to bend tailpipes that didn't rattle around the bigger tank though. Mine had one Challenger exhaust tip from the factory which...
I've always wanted a Magnum GT or a 300 as well. They make a lot of sense these days as an over the road car too. Pretty sure I'll pull the trigger on one in the near future. Back in the day I almost cut a deal on a new Magnum GT and was thinking strongly about a 300. I had just bought a 78 D150...
I like the Magnums best followed by the Daytona taped Chargers, then the Cordobas. You have to compare them to what was available from other manufacturers in the same years. If you do that they were pretty respectable.
I bought a 75, 400 Runner, brand new. I like them because they're the last of the "muscle" B-bodies. I like the styling of the Cordobas and the 79 300 is a pretty special car I think with it's dual cats etc.
Flat or satin black makes them look like a bit of a beater IMO. I understand the satin black is no easier to lay down than gloss paint either and just as hard to match if you have to repair it later. If it was MY car I would go gloss but if you prefer the satin black go for it.
Some misinformation there I think. I'm not an expert on those cars but I am pretty sure they were all 360+4 with a true dual exhaust system with dual cats. They were a pretty cool package for the day.
I bought a 75 Road Runner new with 14 inch rally wheels. They had the punch out and strangely the spare wheel had a center cap installed from the factory. I remember thinking it was very strange.
Well optioned car. Most of them are small blocks too. I bought a new 400 equipped one bqck in 75. I think mine may be out near Houston B.C. however I'm not sure.
