If it was my car I would do it as I remember them when they were new, especially being a 69 R/T. I think in 69 the R/T's were woodgrain not black, I could be mistaken.

Thing is though, I bought this car when it was almost 40 years old. Who knows what it looked like out of the factory for sure. Has a 150 out of an R/T in it for a start.
Legendary comes pre-dyed. A good upholsterer could put in a new insert and make it look like new. The problem would be accessing the correctly grained material, then you would have to dye it to match. Maybe check with an old time upholsterer local to you if possible.
The way I see it is that a lot of these pieces are not that "specialized" and there is no reason to hit your credit card a year before the goods ship. For example a black set of seat skins for a 1970 Cuda, really you would think they would be selling about 50 sets of those a year. So why the...
