When my key is half way in the buzzer goes on when I start the car the buzzer stays on except for one time today it worked as it should. Does that sound like a bad switch?

Ground the blue wire and see if the gauge goes to full if it does the sender is bad.

It would go to your bulkhead connector and from there to the fuse box. Check for a melted connector inside of the bulkhead connector its likely that the original link fused already.
