Disaster - Major Fuel Tank Issue

I did not see which car you need a tank for. But it is a good thing to hear you understand this is a safety item and quality is important. From my experience, reproduction tanks don't necessarily have the same quality of galvanizing as the originals. For that reason alone, I'll only install...

    Fuel Fragrance Additive

As a child, loved the smell of glow fuel in our model airplanes. That was then. This is now. :(

Good source for hard fuel lines?

Always seemed passable on 5/16 steel. Probably fine for aluminum and copper too. But I broke one of these on 3/8 steel fuel line recently. So I upgraded to something like this. Not this one, but lots of choices out there for "heavy duty". Wish someone would make a good hobbyist priced beading...

    Stainless steel fuel tanks...

Check Vans. Where I got mine. Since yours is a more common car I hope they have one for you. But I'm stumped on a sump. https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/fuel-tank-rubber-problem.159323/

Anyone installed Spectra fuel tank naked / unpainted?

I'm not following. Is correct appearance important? This all seems like a lot of work just for corrosion resistance. Why not stainless if available? My second time around I did that with one from Vans. It was actually more correct than a non-stainless one that I had put in 5 years earlier. (The...

Stainless ground strap. Fuel tank to fuel line connection.

Works like a champ. Claimed "Marine". Tinned Teflon wire to a ground stud in the trunk. Crimped at the support and soldered. Did not use the screw. Check out the "double" grounding. (Tank and trunk) My 30 year old stock of clips was getting low. Found a good price. Very interesting.

Stainless ground strap. Fuel tank to fuel line connection.

The problem with worm clams and wire is access. Have to work by feel and very little room on the tube between the sender body between and the hose. Mad working the clamp and hose and didn't realize the stainless fuel tank was sharp till I got out

Stainless ground strap. Fuel tank to fuel line connection.

Maybe I should go with this? Marine grade.

Stainless ground strap. Fuel tank to fuel line connection.

Has anyone run into this problem? I bought one and it has no "spring" to it. When pushed onto the tubes it does not spring back and is loose on the tubes. I'm wondering if I just got a bad one with incorrect tempering or something. I pulled a photo off the internet. Looks like this.

Getting Gas Behind the License Plate

I was wondering about something. Has anyone ever seen if a top quarter panel mounted fill system could be put on a 68-70 Plymouth? (Charger style) In other words if the Plymouth trunk pan could accept a Dodge tank, cut holes and a Dodge fill neck be substituted to move the fill? The under tag...

    Time to Ditch The Edelbrock!

I expressed my "opinion" only to the OP. I figured some would step in to disagree, even pointing out non street applications. We all like to think our selection in motor oil is the best. I think it is conflating things to compare the bowl to body attachment design to a necessary threaded...

I stand corrected. Gaskets never leak.

    Time to Ditch The Edelbrock!

Float level affects how rich a car runs, I heard. That fuel in the bowl has some "head pressure". The more fuel the richer. I can't say for sure. This works on the plastic (?) floats too. I've had ONE of those go bad. It was on a AMC Gremlin. That's how long ago. Happened right after I...

    Time to Ditch The Edelbrock!

What are you running? I'm not real familiar with all the permutations. I know they make one that is a Q jet style. I like Q jets. So is it just a quality problem? In full disclosure, I don't like Holley carbs simply because of the side float arrangement for one thing. From what I heard (and...

Help with coded intake and AVS carb

Yes, that makes sense. As the pictures shows, one hole has no bevel and no threads. What is bothering me is that I can't see how a rod can come up from thechoke well area and attach to the carb linkage in the picture of the carbsitting on the manifold. Maybe I need to get one like in your...

Help with coded intake and AVS carb

Several questions here. I beg your patience. My car is all original except for headers, aluminum intake, Holley carb, Sears alternator, plugs and wires. I figured if I could find a somewhat correct intake, carb and exhaust manifolds that would be a good thing. A Holley and Edelbrock were on...
