This is just a tough question, we really need to know; Do you plan on upgrading your brakes? Not every 17-18" wheel is going to work with thicker calipers, such as the Brembo style. You need to have the correct offset, and once you have the correct offset, then, backspacing must be checked...

Yeah, I ran them on Jegs 15x8 'draglite' replica wheels. They fit fine, about the largest you can run however.

On my 69', I originally ran 295/65r15 M/T ET Streets. Right at around 30" tall, currently, I'm running a 285/45r18; 28.5" tall. It really depends on what you want, you'll need some Super Stock springs to bring up the rear ride height a bit for the 295's without inner-wheel tub modifications.
