18x9 (F) w/ 255s & 18x10 (R) w/ 295's. 18" wheels offer optimal tire selection and availability, 17" wheel would offer slightly more performance with (possibly) less unsprung weight. I would recommend a 40/45-series sidewall for both, 17" or 18" wheel choices.
Modern alignment chart for those...
I ran a 295/65r15 on the rear with 15x8” wheels (4.5” bs) and super stock springs. Probably can get away with a 275/60r15 with stock style suspension (that’s a 28x10.5). Honestly, you want the smallest tire that will hook. Less unsprung weight and more power to the ground with a smaller tire...
Great size wheel, I'm running 18x10's on the rear (6.3" backspacing / 22mm offset). Still only $169/ea from LMR. :thumbsup: I believe I had to run a Baer .375" spacer to provide adequate leaf spring clearance. I just didn't want to pay the custom prices if a wheel were to get damaged.
Any...
Nice article, I'm running the NT555 G2's on the front (255/45r18) along with Nitto NT05's on the rear (295/45r18). Great tires.
Simple terms;
27x10r18 front
28.5x11.6r18 rear
My head starts spinning when I see others paying $500-$1,000/ea wheel and I'm over here paying only $169/ea wheel...
This is just a tough question, we really need to know;
Do you plan on upgrading your brakes? Not every 17-18" wheel is going to work with thicker calipers, such as the Brembo style. You need to have the correct offset, and once you have the correct offset, then, backspacing must be checked...
I have Dr. Diff's 13" Brembo brake setup on the front, and a Baer 11.65" setup on the rear. 18x9's (6.38" BS / +35mm offset) with 255/45r18's on the front. Under full lock, with Wilwood .200" wheel spacers, I have maybe an 1/8-1/4" clearance. On the rear, I run 295/45r18's. 18x10's (6.36" BS...
On my 69', I originally ran 295/65r15 M/T ET Streets. Right at around 30" tall, currently, I'm running a 285/45r18; 28.5" tall. It really depends on what you want, you'll need some Super Stock springs to bring up the rear ride height a bit for the 295's without inner-wheel tub modifications.
