Maybe Dave's wife got ahold of the receipts and final bill on this one, I would be disgusted to, but of course, it's not something Dave (or anyone) would willingly admit.
Couldn't imagine having the liquid assets to spend what amounts to a brand-new RAM TRX towing a Dodge Demon on a B-Body Mopar.
That's three really, deep pocket options.
Remove the stroked BBM off the list. It will crush a GEN III N/A for power with modern TF-270 heads, but that's not really the goal of your build. Expect abysmal fuel economy, just comes with the territory of big displacement.
What you're looking...
Just my honest advice, purchase a quality new carburetor with an electric choke - if you care about actual tuning, order a Wideband 02 sensor like the AEM UEGO or learn to be great at reading plugs [shut off immediately once up to operating temperature at idle / cruise / WOT if you want to tune...
Keep it simple, 904 or 727 w/ GV. No reason to even attempt to get an 8HP70 transmission to work.
Mopar dropped the ball, they should have had retro-fit kits for 8HP70/8HP90 transmissions immediately along with their plug-and-play kit for the 5.7/6.4 HEMI. Just seems like common sense to me.
AndyF has some really good manifold testing articles, without a dyno cell, the benefits will be a tough to realize. Best scenario is looking at the average torque / hp across the rpm range that you're going to be utilizing, selecting an intake manifold that works well in that area.
Here is an...
TBI EFI will have instant throttle response, regardless of manifold type. Remember, 58 Psi of fuel pressure flowing through (4) 100 lb/hr injectors directly into the intake tract. The great aspect of TBI over MPFI, is the dense, cool air-fuel charge from maintaining a wet style intake...
Love my Sniper kit, I've had it on the car since April. Good, better, best scenario says the best solution would be a single-plane intake manifold. Better scenario is a dual-plane with a spacer. Good scenario, dual-plane with the divider machined down.
Enjoy the tech support even more, had...
I was running 295/65r15's on off-the-shelf 15x8 wheels (4.5" BS). That's a 30" x 11.6" tire, only needed to roll the fenders to avoid any sort of rubbing scenario. When we're talking about pro-touring or resto-mods, I don't really see this as an honest suggestion to someone.
You want a larger...
No question how easily someone can have $50,000-$75,000 into one of these cars when following a build. Brake issue may be related to MC bore sizing, what size are the Wilwood bores and part # for calipers? Most of the time, you will go to a smaller bore MC to increase pedal travel and decrease...
Nice upgrade, wish there was a simpler replacement that didn't cost $300-$400 / each to provide quality light output.
On the other hand, you can purchase (2) 6" LED light bars on Amazon for $15 and mount them directly next to the factory turn signals on a Road Runner:popcorn2:
Start with the little things. Return-style fuel system with a boost-referenced Aeromotive regulator (I utilize Aeroquip socketless hose). MSD 6AL-2 ignition system. Heavy duty aluminum driveshaft. U-joints and yokes. Rear axles. All the minor items that will break under increased stress...
Nearly identical setup as when I started but only @ 8psi, non-intercooled, pump gas with a stage II meth-injection kit from Snow (10:1 with cast pistons). After the first build, could have done it much better this time around. You learn quite a lot, very quickly.
30-pulls and no results, wow...
I want to say that this is just an unhappy dyno, but realistically, the newer cars (bottom) were right around the range that I expected them to be. Take dynograph numbers with a grain-of-salt if from varying sources (MPH at the track doesn't lie), they're just a tuning aid. This is nice...
Awesome power, and yes, tuning is critical; it’s fairly easy to tune for WOT as you run it fat and simply lean it out. A lot of guys now believe the ‘self tuning’ EFI is a miracle worker, already seen on engine destroyed when they relied on it rather than the dyno for the initial tune. It gets...
I would guess, at least $6,000 on the very low end (if done right). What most don't usually add in is the pumps, hoses, AN fittings, all the small items that nickle and dime you to death. I have a complete log of everything I purchased and priced it all out, it was well above what I originally...
Yes.. all with true - EFI. EFI.. EFI... Ask them next time you see them, 'daily driving', how much have they invested in their builds. . . Easily $6,000+ for the complete kit from thesuperchargerstore alone. Then another $2,000+ for a proper fuel system (EFI). I believe the blocks can...
Joe, that wasn't my intention if directed toward me. Supercharging is great, but you have to be in it for the long-haul with a purpose built application for a BBM. If this was a newer GEN III Hemi this wouldn't even be a discussion, bolt on a Magnuson and go. I swapped a Paxton on a friends...
