No help here from me, never did any of this work so I can't be of any assistance. But, I do want to say kudos to all of you who are helping @aussiewannabee69. Taking the time to help another builder is a wonderful endeavor. You are to be commended.
Thanks for all your advice. Got it on the tires, took measurements, made adjustments. Problem solved.
A lot of really smarts guys here. Saved my *** many times.
Thanks for the thoughts. The uca bolts are in place but not tight. The lca has not been touched. I backed off the torsion bar adjusters 3 revolutions. The spindles are at the same height as they would be if the tires were on but I will install the rotors and mount the tires and take out the jack...
While rebuilding the front suspension on my '66 Belvedere - disc conversion, upper control arms, tie rods, etc - I noticed my ride height is about 5" higher than is was before I started the restoration on the car.
It went to the body shop the with the engine out and came back like it is now even...
66 Sat is correct. I just replaced my upper control arms and obviously had to remove the bolts. However, my suspension has never been altered so this may not apply to your situation.
Bolts and eccentrics slide in from the engine bay and nuts and eccentrics in the wheel well. With the load off...
Jim from DMT told me to use the original parts except for the top seal and cap. Just clean them well, remove all the old grease from the housing, repack and reassemble. He said none of the new kits are exact. I took his advice and works great. Got the seal, cap and retainer from him. Great guy.

I tried it 2 ways. First using C clamps to hold the cover tight while tapping on the tabs with a punch. C clamps really had nothing to grip to so went not so well. Secondly, took BIG Channel Locks to secure the cover then a second pair to pinch over the tab. Worked much better.
Oh, and a little...
I've been in contact with James Fillmore of Detroit Muscle Technologies about rebuilding the steering coupler on my '66 Belvedere. I was told that the rebuild kits offered by various suppliers, DMT as well, do not apply to '66 B Bodies. Apparently '66 is different. It was suggested that I...
69plywgn, thanks... found it. Really not much to the rebuild but never having done one before I just didn't want to miss anything, especially concerning steering.
I need to rebuild portions of my steering column, BUT the factory manual I have has no reference whatsoever to steering columns, or I just can't find it. I believe I need to replace the lower column seal, and anything that goes along with that, and rebuild the coupler. If anyone has a...
There's so much info here about converting to front disc it gets a little confusing. I see that some companies supply complete packages, including boosters. Attached is an old pic of my booster. As a cost savings measure, I'm wondering if I can use my booster with a new MC, lines and disc brake...
