    Lets discuss headlights

You may also want to look into headlight relays. Here is the email address for Rob Yule <[email protected]> He's a member here and builds his own systems. I bought a set for my '66 Belvedere. They're high quality and fit perfectly.

    Charging/ammeter issue

I have to say that I am completely blown away by the knowledge you people possess. Your answers to my question has caused me to study and better understand my charging system, something we rarely think about ‘til it stops working. I now understand it a little better but not to the degree laid...

    Charging/ammeter issue

Thanks. I had planned to replace the battery and reinstall the original alt in an effort to trouble shoot the problem. Would you suggest replacing the VR with a solid state unit?

    Charging/ammeter issue

I know this thread is a couple months old but may I jump in here? I have a similar, but different issue. Ammeter jumps around at idle, 700 RPM, but steadies out upon slight RPM increase. Lights flicker as well at idle but flicker goes away upon RPM increase. Just installed a square back 55 amp...

Ore the front turn signal bulb for ‘67 Coronet?

This is from my '66 Plymouth FSM. Probably the same for Dodge, but not sure. Also found this... Primary Filament Operation at 12.8 Volts The primary filament is used for normal marker-lamp (the rear light that comes on when you turn on your headlights) operation. The 1157 lamp can sustain 2.10...

This is what the back of the dash looks like. I believe this is the voltage limiter @moparmarks is talking about.

Ammeter to Voltmeter Conversion -- Existing Wire Question

Sorry but I’m not comfortable giving advise on that. Perhaps someone here with a more professional electrical background/experience can help. Good luck.

Ammeter to Voltmeter Conversion -- Existing Wire Question

Don’t know if this helps, but I just installed a volt meter on my ‘66. According to the wiring instructions I simply ran it off the switched (run not start) side of the ignition. The other side of the gauge just grounds under the dash. I did not touch the existing amp meter wiring.

    Cleaning Electrical Connections

I had to replace a badly corroded electrical block at the firewall with a less corroded one. I soaked it in good old Coke for a couple hours then used a very small round brush to clean all the connecters. Seemed to work. Transferring all the wires was tedious but necessary.

    Engine bay bulkhead bracket identification!

On my ‘66 there is a similar bracket that attaches to the top of brake booster backing plate and is used for the wiring to go over the booster. Looks like that’s the bracket on the stud, though mine is slightly different. Perhaps someone with an earlier year can ID the other bracket

I'd like to know if there's a part number on that 'U' shaped hose connected to the heater valve. Can't find one anywhere.

Body Wiring Mystery I Can't Solve

Hi Don, and thanks for your thoughts. The directional signal switch is disconnected at the connector at the base of the steering column removing it from the circuit. As is the headlight switch.
