As you can see I'm prone to Light Turquoise, but I think your turquoise interior, which looks great BTW, and a turquoise ext may be a little too much. However, Mopar did offered 2 shades of turquoise and there are some beautiful shades of white available by various manufactures.
A couple weeks ago @WileERobby posted the question... Does the Passage of Time Alter Our Perceptions ? I responded that many of the early Mopar designs were odd at best, thanks to the styling peculiarities of Virgil Exner and his designs from 1955-1963. And when placed next to the sleeker Fords...
I'm so glad you're posting your build. I had questions about the new AMD quarters that you seem to have answered.
I waited a number of years, and sent dozens of e-mails to AMD, waiting for them to produce these quarters. Ironically, last year I finally decided to fix mine not knowing if they...
Like so many the tabs on the defroster vents were broken and when super glue and JB Weld didn’t do the trick I tried this. Cut some tabs from a piece of 22ga sheet metal, drilled and riveted in place. Not perfect but didn’t come out too bad. A little trim black paint and they work fine.
Yes I...
I just picked up 4 14x5.5 wheels. Nice condition but will need to be restored.
Date codes are: 9 11 20, 2 6 5, 9 10 20 and 6 5 24.
It's the 6 5 24 that has me confused.
My understanding is these wheels were manufactured between 68-74. If so, what is the '6' date code. It's supposed to be the...
I know it's been said before here on FBBO but kudos to Bruce Somer (member here ns1aar) and his talents in restoring wiper motors. Just got mine back and it's perfect. His personal attention - phone calls - was assuring. He's not cheap but boy is he good and worth every penny.
Interesting, and thanks for sharing! I've checked all my documentation and no where are there 19's and 22's that mean anything in particular. I recently emailed Mike Mancini, one of the best MOPAR restorers in the business, to see if he had any ideas. Hope to hear back, but I imagine he's quite...
Happy to see the photos. Now if someone can tell us what these markings are. I’ve searched online and all I could find were the normal markings on the rear end, etc. just wondering if the line workers were screwing with us. “Honey, today at work I wrote some numbers on a car. They don’t mean a...
I took some house rain gutter and separated it to fit the longer pieces. Made a bath of caustic acid, or Draino, and water and let them soak. Tapped out all the dings. Sanded down to 1000 grit then polished on a wheel. It was a lot of work but I think they turned out alright. (Grill repair...
I have a standard cap that will be used whenever the car is out of the garage. Tried a wire tether years ago and found a guy near the car with wire cutters. It never ends.
All the trim, including the side trim, has be de-anodized. I tapped out all the dings and polished everything. It will be going back on the car in the spring. I'm lucky enough to have 2 complete sets including 2 gas caps. Problem that I found is keeping the trim clean and shinny. I'll have to...
