My trailer has a 3500# winch in it I’ve never used but would like to try. A friend of mine said 3500# is pretty marginal and I should get a 5000#. Is that correct?
I was sort of surprised looking at YouTube I couldn’t find what I considered a really good video of winching a nice vintage car in...
I have some Harbor Freight nylon trim tools but I didn't have much luck trying to use any of the ones in my kit to remove dogdash hubcaps. They were too thick to get under the cap to pry them, in my experience.
What I ended up doing was using a paint can lid tool, available all over the place...
A good friend of mine recently bought a loaded curious yellow 71 Challenger R/T 340 that was sitting unknown to anybody in a local back yard under a tarp for 35 years. There isn’t a non rotted piece of metal on that car. My friend is trying to sell it, it’s advertised on a number of sites and...
I’m not sure if they salvaged all of Mr Norms sales records or just ones from a certain time period. The ones I’ve seen displayed over the years have all been from the late 60s to early 70s.
But that’s the era I mostly pay attention to, so earlier ones might exist too.
He should check with...
One thing I ordered was a couple amber 1157 bulbs, to have in case one of the Magnums turn signals ever burn out. They were $1.18 each.
When the box arrived I open it, and one bulb is broken, and the other only had one filament in it, so not an 1157.
I put in a complaint and got a box yesterday...
One of my Challengers was sold at Grand Spaulding Dodge, and I was able to buy its sales folder from Larry Weiner in the late 90s when he’d partnered with Mr Norm to organize and sell the stuff he had stored away after shutting down.
Invaluable stuff to have for my car!
I got an email from them a couple weeks ago on some close outs too, for my 14 Dart, Magnum and 09 Challenger (that I sold last year).
I noticed they had an ignition switch for my Magnum for $13. That’s one of the few things I haven’t changed yet chasing my intermittent crank but no start issue...
It seems to be widely reported in various places that motor oil has a "shelf life" and the "use by" date I usually hear is 5 years.
That is why I would be concerned about using a stash of older oil in my vintage cars.
Containers of oil don't have a expiration date printed on them, so it is...
I use a broker for my classic car insurance and that I keep one of my cars in storage came up. They needed information on where the car is stored like the address, but other than that, it didn't seem to be an issue. I'm pretty sure that all came up while I was still insured with Hagerty, it...
I had Hagerty and never made a claim, so can’t speak on that.
I got my renewal last December and my premium was up about 50%. No tickets, claims, credit rating drop, so baffled they tried to jack me up so much. I do have a problem with that!
I found another company whose premium was slightly...
I thought the factory sponsored extended warranties were pretty trustworthy?
A friend of mine bought a Chrysler lifetime extended warranty on a 2500 he bought 9 or 10 years ago when they still offered that, and uses his truck to tow car trailers all over the country, with over 300,000 miles on...
That video went viral a few weeks ago.
I bought a new Ram a couple years ago and that video got me thinking about the factory extended warranty junk mailings I get from Ram regularly.
I treat and maintain my vehicles well and by and large they’ve treated me well in return over the last 40+...
I take a ton of pictures at shows, but due to several snafus didn't take nearly as many yesterday as I usually do. Here are a couple more cars there not previously posted in this thread.
I haven't heard anything about Jim's in many years. There used to be threads ranting about them pretty regularly on Mopar forums 10-15 years ago but none recently. I figured they'd run themselves out of business long ago, and was sort of surprised to see they are still around when I saw this...
