I really can’t speak on other ones. I went from original setup to the lokar. Been great since! Here’s directions for kick down.

I’ve tried plenty on mine. My cam is .572 and I used 440source cnc stealth heads. CR is 9.7:1 with lots of quench!
It finally liked an 850 dp QF the best. Response is great throughout. Just a street car!
The list...the original 650 that was on the 383 to begin with, a 750, another 850, a 950...
I’ve got a 512 stroker and similar set up.. I bought a Holley 950 off a member here. I felt it was a little too big. Dropped to an 850 and no complaints. Goes very well!
:lol::lol:
if you’re looking for a very good used Holley 950, let me know.. it’s just sitting here..
I’ve seen where people clean up a dirty carb and dirt and grime will get into those tiny air bleed parts on top of the carb. Some will have removable and size differences to help with rich / lean issues. Yours does not. I would take it all apart make sure those are all cleaned as well as...
Here’s a link at Holley. It will get you close.. 750-770 seem to be ballpark. Lots depend on other factors of build too. Keep that in mind.

Are you running a newer MSD ignition box by chance? Reason I ask is I was and same thing happened minus the 20 second fire. It only lasted a few seconds. I was running a Holley 650 and had just upgraded(?) to msd ignition. It backfired couple times at the pumps. Able to get it out of the pump...
I don’t know about that.... I try! I’ve figured a few things out over the years but many more out there much better at it!! Thanks though!
Yes, it works the float upwards. That’s why it’s much easier when it’s full. The fuel lifts it up when you turn the screw. But, if the bowl is full and you...
I was teaching my daughter about float level today. She’s putting a carb on her 88 Ramcharger so I thought it might help her out. Anyway, I showed her on an empty 4150 dp off the car.. I found for demonstration purposes and understanding how it’s easier to see and feel how that spring works...
I've got a 1" spacer and 950 cfm. if it's been sitting, I always crank it a few times before hitting the fuel. However, I've got to hit the pedal several times before we have ignition. Crank several times again. Once it goes, it stays running though. Thinking the EFI Route next winter. That'll...
I will say before I pulled the low compression 383 out of my charger, I had taken the Holley 650 off it and placed a Holley 3310 750cfm vac secondaries and electric choke on it. After that, th engine ran the best it could. I didn’t run it long that was but a definite improvement. The 3ngine was...
First, I am no expert by any means. I’m still in the learning stage. I’ll always be there too I bet. But, One thing I didn’t see mentioned, were the floats. Are they where they should be?
I have a QF type. I’ve been months trying to lean out. May have just got it. Still testing due to weather...
Yeah, check floats make sure fuel level is right at bottom of opening. Then check air idle screws on each metering block. Use a vacuum gauge. This will really help on those.
Here's an article on adjusting vacuum secondaries...
i was recently looking for a complete, or as complete as I could find, a Holley stock jet size chart. I wanted to know what came originally in the Holley carbs. I came across this and thought I've seen plenty of carb posts and thought maybe it would be a good cross reference in case folks...
Your 750 May be too small. Many opinions on this..
I'm running holley 850 double pumper with air horn removed on 383, same heads lighter cam though. I've tried holley...650 double pumper, 750 3310, and this 850. By far the 850 goes the best..
See if you can find different ones to try before...
