I never tried but they kept ordering cases and doing all kinds of jobs.. of you needed the right too to drill out. Regular drill wouldn’t do it. Keep sealing up!
Used to work a a hockey store years ago. We would sell cases of puck to people doing all sorts of lift/ suspension work. Mostly 4x4’s as far as I can remember. Seemed to work well.
When you get to putting it all back together, may I recommend one of the add on retaining clamps. Good piece of mind.
Can do a search and they are all over the www. And a search here on Fbbo will give you some results too!
To jump in and add.. I also have a FF stage 2. It was great right out of the box! However, I found 4 things that were contributing to my issues. A couple of them may be getting at you???
1. someone prior to me shortened the steering shaft, broke those little Bakelite pins so it was too short...
Absolutely! They go on hard but it’s a great piece to add!
also, pay attention to those pieces that go inside the coupler. Many people have installed them incorrectly!
Why yes it was., lol! Once steering column came out and I measured it, made it easy to figure out.
I even called the previous owner and gave him the bad news (he did want to know) I almost didn’t because of the money and time and energy he spent on it for it to be just that!
Anyway good luck!
I’ll add this in just because..it’s the reason the guy who owned my car sold it! He replaced the steering box 3 times and could not get the slop out. Everyone kept saying, “it not like your new car”. Fast forward. He sold it, I got it and messed with steering a lot! Fixing front sway bar, end...
260-13375-p is the wilwood part number I used. However, I have disc all around, so I’m not sure. I bet they could tell you.
It’s a manual master with larger piston size.
I just changed over to a Firm Feel and had to change pitman to fit. Not a big deal but had to wait a bit to put all back together! Thinking it’s done in one night the hitting that issue, bit of letdown.
Measure for sure, and double check just to make sure!
Good luck!
If you’re that close and you don’t know when or if at all it’s been rebuilt, I’d do it! Kits are not that expensive and I would definitely get a clip as pictured above for the final piece. I just did this last winter and wasn’t bad at all. I will say, that retaining clip can be a real pain to...
I used Firm Feel stage 2 replacing a older replacement steering box last year. I did send it back for the core. I used regular ps coupler that I already had. No changes there. Not really knowing the difference between Firm Feel and Borgenson, I went with FF. Nothing bad to say against Borgenson...
Maybe. This is what I was thinking..
I know the guy that had messed with the steering boxes on my car, the messed around, banged around and at some point collapsed the column. I had to repair to put back..
I just changed mine this past year. I will say be careful with the coupler and collapsing the column, those old plastic pieces inside the column are old and brittle. Making difficult for the coupler to go back correctly. The column can be fixed if it does, just an added step..
I used the Firm...
If you research a coupler rebuild kit on the web, you’ll find the kit comes with a roll pin. Also, I just did this rebuild and I strongly recommend one of the coupler clamps

Goes on hard but really secures things...
