You bet! I hope you don’t have to go through what I did! Almost plug and play would be much better.. if there is anything else I can help with don’t hesitate to shoot me a message.
I used auto meter gauges and a carbon fiber dash to redo the old cracked on in the 69. It’s not a 74 but I bet you may run into some of same issues. Hopefully not..
It was a royal pain in the caboose installing because the metal cluster frame behind the plastic panel needed to be altered to...
Subwoofer definitely not needed. Amps, depend on wattage of stereo guy has and really what it is he is looking for. If it’s just a light cruising system, then probably not.
I looked before I stared building the front seat speak. I tried underneath and not a lot of room and blocks the clarity...
Yes, as far under as I could get them and still point straight up and not be blocked by the seat..
Floor is a little dirty! Oops I’ve been driving the crap out of it!
Looks like plenty of room in the back to hide some little goodies. Yes I figured by the sound of things your guy...
I’m going to add some pics of what I did. I went quite a bit further than I think what you’re intending.
I had the whole interior out so it was time. The car isn’t 100% original so didn’t matter to me..
I’m sure you know older cars such as these weren’t designed for sound like we want today...
Had same issue. Hit a bump and bang open right up. I adjusted the latch, hinges cleaned all up and even tried to see if the frame where the hinges attached was bent etc, nothing worked. Bought new latch, bingo now stays closed over worst Maine bumps!
I used similar stuff from Home Depot. Heat duct insulation. The rolls came a little smaller than what 65 showed but these had adhesive back. Worked great. After interior install and car has been on the road for a year or so since and no issues. Don’t feel the heat as I used to and the vibrations...
Went complete Autometer set up. Got rid of all old gauges, which all were working. Now, I will say not original car either. If it were, I might have thought differently.
Might be more of an issue, but it happened to me when I first got my car. I started with all the grounds to the lights. Found two were not properly grounded and one light not grounded at all. Fixed them and things were good. Good luck!

Order new IMO! I messed with mine for a while and it just never did it. The lock would fail and bam, the glove box opens up. I ordered new and everything just fine!
