Went thru almost same dilemma. But my car is not original so I wasn’t concerned about that at all. A good friend of mine build race car engines. Been Chevy guy mostly but wanted to do Mopar! As I was looking at stroker kits, they were the same price so my initial thinking was not the 512. But as...
No real sound advantage Within a small confined space like a vehicle and lower volumes of a car stereo. Putting in a huge system with onboard amp sets, yes it could make a difference.
Guitar cabinets, imo definitely a difference. I love the 16 ohm cabs but that isn’t your application here. The...
Depends on the amp within your stere, it’s outputs and how many speakers you plan to have.
here’s a couple good reads that may help..
How to Wire Speakers in Parallel & Series, and how does it affect Impedance?
SERIES & PARALLEL SPEAKER WIRING
if you want to post up info on your stereo...
If you go msd, go basic box. I tried one of those fancy programmable ones and it blew up. Msd went good for it and I replaced it with just the regular 6al and is great! Good luck!
When I rewired my car I found the neutral safety switch had previously been bypassed. I put in that switch and again bypassed it. After I did, I thought..you’d better sure it’s in park or neutral when you hit the key and not in gear! In a garage, bad things could happen really quickly. The good...
I don’t know if you’re wanting to stay original but I went Lokar a few years ago. I don’t have anything original either..sorry. But lokar isn’t too tricky to set up but I have to say works great! in case you’re interested...
From experience and the p.o. Of my car throwing 3 steering boxes into it all to find out it wasn’t the box at all. It was the length of the steering shaft therefore not fitting the coupler well and then not fitting onto the steering box correctly! They are collapsible with 2 little Bakelite pins...
I bought one of these to turn my motor over with as it was going together. I’ve bust my knuckles up too many times. This way incase things needed to be turned over when in the car, which it did, works very well (with plugs out!)
a bit pricey but it did it...
Don’t know if this will help you or not, but on my old 383 which I replaced, it had been decked and the heads had some work too all before I got it. After messing around with vacuum leak search and no luck finding it, I tried to replace alum intake with another one and found it didn’t fit...
The last digits of the vehicles vin should match with the numbers on the radiator support and trunk rail. Unless they have been replaced with donor parts from other cars or new sheet metal.
However, the first characters of the vin won’t be there but one still should be able to figure most of...
I have found that these old b bodies are almost always a work in progress! Get one thing done and poof, another pops up. However, that’s why many of us got into this hobby! Right now working on little things as it’s been pretty cold in the garage and I had to put my daughter’s project Jeep...
I took the board that was on top of package tray and built a fiberglass speaker enclosure for on top of the tray. Covered with vinyl. The enclosures are difficult to make but I can walk you through the process if you want to go that way. Looks really good when done and a much better sound as...
Not quite the same, but I’m running a msd 8545 dizzy on a 400 block with tm6 intake with aluminum stealth heads and it fits just fine. I would think it would be all relative..but as stated summit has good return policy and they are knowledgeable. Good luck!
US.. here’s a pic of baffle. It’s not a great pic. But I took a large piece of industrial thick cardboard, measured space and cut to fit right behind trunk lid. Drilled and screwed right to package tray. I did insulate and cover with the thin black auto carpet. Glued and small stapled. I’m...
