Once in a great while, the insurance companies will keep old files. Most purge them but maybe if you can figure out if there was insurance and the company or agent. You can contact to see if they still maintain the records. Very big long shot but you never know until you try. Best of luck!!
I ran them through The 1970 Hamtramck Registry - Found Section - Custom VIN Search (1960 - 1969) first then Mopar VIN Database
great sites but like every other site only as good as what’s been entered..
Did see this though…
Vehicle Search Results for XS29R0G161336

I checked www.lynchroad.com, It is listed there but unfortunately no information. Might have been you that listed it but if not, Maybe you can check with the webpage owner and see if any info from the backside of the page.
Good luck
That does suck! Maybe a little more research to see if you can find the same agent, if even possible. May not be!
But if the person that insured the car at some point was around, there would not be any privacy issues. If they claimed there was, then I think they just don't want to dig and you...
74 - you're right. if the car was owned by someone else then more than likely the privacy act would be involved. But if owned by the same family, then maybe.. Like I said long shot too!
I did it with my old charger that my dad registered and insured when I was in school. Same local agency...
Long shot for sure and here is another one.. If it was insured at some point and you know the insurance agency, or can find it out, they might (should) still have record of the policy in their files and be able to locate a vin for you! Seen it happen before.. Good luck..
It'll be a long shot for sure but if you know the old insurance company that you dad used, maybe back in their old files, they might have it. If they have your dad's info, they will have the vin.
Good Luck!
I have looked at a site before. It's for old mopars. Lynchroad.com. Enter the vin and see if anyone has entered in there before. It's also used for cars not made at lynch road plant. I actually found my cars previous info there! Good luck , still a long shot!
I also checked www.lynchroad.com. It's a database for all 1914-1980 +- dodge Chrysler Plymouth vehicles. It wasn't in the database. May be idea to add your vin there in case someone is looking down the road..
I've heard of the build sheets being in the back the front seat and underneath the...
It will be a long shot..but
www.lynchroad.com. It's not specific to vehicles made there.
If people enter the vin, it may be there, worth a try good luck.
You may have already thought of this but check with your local dmv (BMW) department motor vehicles. They usually have investigators. If you can get them to help and have the vin number of the car, they should be able to run the vin and see last registered to. Unless of course the dump their old...
