So, I looked at the small block Flowtech headers on Summit.
They sure look to me like they go below the steering.
Can anyone confirm or deny?
I am VERY impressed with their big block headers, especially for the price.
They may be one of those "best kept secrets".
The super comps on my Bee only needed one plug wire with a 90 degree boot and one with a 45 degree.
Bitch to replace the plug wires but no interference to get the plugs in or out.
I think I had to put one ding in the super comps on my Super Bee.
IIRC it was for the kickdown linkage that the PO never installed.
Although the flanges were warped and I solved that by sawing through them between the pipes.
That trick worked great.
If anyone knows of something other than the $1000 Doug's, TTI or Hooker super comps, I'm all ears.
I do know that Flowtech are a less well known and much less expensive good fit for big blocks.
Dougs and TTI are the best but you will pay for them.
Hooker super comp is a good one as well, but you will also pay for those.
Agree anything that has tubes below the steering linkage will scrape the ground and are a PITA to install, but can be had for about $50 used at a swap meets. I have...
My 73 has 2.25" duals in aluminized pipe from the factory manifolds.
I get comments all the time about "how good it sounds".
The factory thought dual 2.25" pipes were worth 20 HP.
CPA makes headers but they are $$$$.
In 2010 I had short dual head pipes made for an LA at the local guy.
$100 if I supplied my own flange clamps. $150 if he had to.
Wonder what it costs now.
