Vintage Air installation in a 1968 Satellite

Putting classic air in my car found that placing the vents under dash does not give the flow of air to the cabin as I would like. Space between the radiator fan and the radiator has become a problem. As most of you have seen with my post on the destroyed radiator. Looking to move my vents to the...

Radiator fan shroud.. I'm embarrassed LOL

Where did you get the shroud form. Is it original. Just had a bad experience with one that was not original. Now have an original and going to be better than the other one. It is much more like it should be and not a flimsy piece of junk. Costly and had to get another radiator to replace the one...

Radiator fan shroud.. I'm embarrassed LOL

Take the top rad. hose off. Remove the fan. Then put the shroud over the water pump area. Then you should have enough room to install the fan the shroud to the radiator. Know it is a tight fit, but it takes patens. Good luck.

    Radiator shot

Acquired a new rad for my runner. It was not that bad on price. You have to think of how long your radiator has been around and they do break down after many years of use. Rotted cores is the biggest problem. I also live in Fl. All the rad shops are gone around here. I searched the net for a new...

    Stock AC or Vintage Air?

Bought classic air and installed myself. Thing is not too happy with the cooling of my runner. Had problems with the heater exchange valve got a new one under warrantee. But it all piped through the fire wall. Like the original one. Just had to drill holes for my ac lines. and one for the power...

Need guidance on a 73 charger ac system

71 Charger w/5.7 AC system (question)

In stalled the classic air in mine and had to drill holes in the fire wall for my A/C lines. It work's well. Did not have to cut my glove box liner down is what sold me. Had to grind some metal off the bracket that held the compressor so my fan belt would not strike it. Other than that it was...

    Permatex on water pump

After reading most post on the temp's in town that is not too high of temp. These big block's do run hotter than the small block's. You say it is hard to start when the block sit's after being hot. Try a fuel check valve at the carb. I put one on mine and it help's. Holley sell's them but got...

    Permatex on water pump

Live in fl. also running a 160 thermostat. Not seeing any over heating with the 383 engine. It has gotten up too 190 when driving in traffic. You need some kind of restriction in the flow of water so it gets a chance to cool in the radiator. The top neck for the water hose I bought was a chrome...

Who rebuilds these, or where can I find parts - AC / Heater Controls

Sure you have your hand's full just on the car it's self. Sent off my dash cluster and was the best choice I could have made. When it got in it was like brand new. Just plug and play so they say. 1300 was a bit of a bite but had way too much to do on the car and that would have never come out...

    Flex fans

Just don't like the flex fan's. The blades are not as big as the original one and really don't think they move the air at low rpm's like a seven blade fan. I got the original one and put it on my car and it cool's the engine fine at idle. On the electrical fan may be you can put one in the front...

    Should I be concerned?

It would be a good Idea to install comp. gauges under dash. Have Oil pressure-water temp-voltmeter. It gives me a peace of mind.

A/C, Final Fitting Under the Hood Today

Like that set up. Found out that my belt is hitting the compressor bracket to day on my classic A/C set up. Look's like I got to grind on that bracket. Found belt dust on the water pump. NOT GOOD.

Factory AC - Vintage Air vs Rebuild

Classic air hoses came out where your heater hoses are on the fire wall. Just had to drill a few more hole's for routing. Did not have to cut glove box down at all. Over all a simple insulation. Still cap off the fresh air from the lower cowl. Yes plate is supplied in the kit.

Factory AC - Vintage Air vs Rebuild

It was working good. But too busy trying to get my fuel and carb set right. Then will be able to check the air. My buddy that filled it says we must of had an air bubble some where and will fill it again. It cooled for a while then not so much. But a new system need's to be checked after putting...
