I know this needs to go in the parts wanted section, but here goes. Someone used to make a hand made tool to adjust the rear carb a/f screws. Does anyone have one for sale or know where I can get one.

I know there are no a/f screws to adjust on the outboards. And the linkage is adjusted ok. What else to adjust ??

Doesn't move at all. But I set the screws appx 1 3/4 turns out.

I'm having trouble adjusting the a/f ratio screws on the center carb. There is no difference when either side is adjusted. I can screw them all the way in & no change. So, what needs to be checked or fixed ?? I'm also getting 15 on the vacuum guage. And strong gas smell after shut down.

1970 440 six barrell. I needed to take the center carb off last nite. Of course one of the fuel inlets was turning when I was removing the fuel line. It's tough to get a wrench solidly on the inlet. Does Holley or someone make a tool for that occasion.

I think I finally found the problem. The choke wasn't opening fully after warm up. I disconnected the choke & wired it open. Took it for a ride & she ran perfectly. I think the culprit might be the choke pull off. Is there a way to test it before replacing it ??

All vacuum hoses good. Linkage is not binded. Accelerator pump ?? I don't know how to check that. I can cruise good with the car. But if I hit the gas hard & fast it sputters & wants to die. It's an automatic. I'm not taking it down to passing gear. Just to that point.

Carbs were rebuilt 7 years ago. I never retimed it after aluminum heads were installed. Never had this problem until after new heads.

It did have iron heads before the swap. Now aluminum heads & intake.

I got a 1970 440 + 6. Just finished new 440 Source aluminum heads. Car starts just fine. But when i give it some gas under load the engine sputters & wants to die. I'm looking for a pix of the spring & throttle setup for a six barrell. I had mine off & am not sure i have it back on correctly. Any help is appreciated.

Yes, it's suppopsed to be loose. Under the plate is your choke spring that heats up when the engine is on. It opens & closes the choke on the carb.

You would order one appx Sept or Oct 68.

Could be a defective fuel filter.

I just can't seem to mget my choke & fast idle set up properly. Stock 440 six barrell. New choke thermostat. Can someone explain how to adjust the choke setting & fast idle setting. I have the service manual, but just can't get it right.
