Without using heat, can you tell me which way the counterweight turns ( clockwise or counter ) when mounted.

Can the heat riser be tested prior to mounting the manifold back on. The butterfly valve swings freely. Can i heat it up to see if it opens properly ??

Just replaced the heat riser on my 70 RR. What is a good lubricant to use on it.

My 440+6 is a LA built car. Los Angeles built cars were mostly for the southwest area. But not all were destined for Calif. No Hemi cars were built at Los Angeles. But my 440+6 was ordered with the federal emissions. It's on the fender tag.

Do you have the ECS tank ?? If so, mine has it, I can take pics for you. The ECS tank has four tubes coming out from the right side of the tank. Chuck

I also had a similar problem. My car has California emissions on it. They have different gas tanks. 4 metal vent tubes come out from the pass side of it & go up into a tube in the trunk. One of the rubber lines attached to it was leaking. The gas ran down to the front of the tank & dripped. Only...

I always thought all 70 & 71 HP 440 blocks could be 6 pack engines. Other than the intake, the heads had different springs. Also the original 6 pack cams are 3 bolt also. Chuck

I like the original tick tock tach. I had gary "the tach man" redo mine for electronic ign. Also he puts in a quartz movement for the clock. Has run perfect ever since. Chuck

Remove the steering column bolts underneath it. It drops the column a little bit to give some much needed clearance. chuck

There is an electrical solenoid under the dash for the air grabber. Are you talking about that one or just the vacuum solenoid screwed to the hood? Chuck

I had the same problem with my RR cable. Simple replacement with a factory cable did the trick. Chuck
