    Line lock- on rear brakes?

I should have said when I started this thread that I'm running an auto trans. Sorry to everyone who wasted time talking about locks with manual trans. I think it's obvious to us all that lock out on rears with manual wouldn't be a good way to go, even if you were Fred Astaire, ha... I have...

    Line lock- on rear brakes?

I'm still undecided but leaning towards putting it on rears. I wonder how nhra techs would react if you told them yes the line lock is on the rear line but not being used to lock-in the rears. It's being used as a lock-out the rears. I bet the rule was written with someone locking-in the rears...

    Line lock- on rear brakes?

A bud told me he was putting his line-lock on his rear brakes. I said that's not going to work but he explained that it actually works better. You hit the switch without brakes applied and then you will only have front brakes which you can pedal on an off if/as needed during burn-out. Finish...

    Racing Insurance and roll cage?

Thanks, good read. I was thinking that at a hi cost Lloyd’s of London would probably cover on track and looks like they can co-cover with companies like in that article.

    Racing Insurance and roll cage?

Looks like this co insures on track but they're in Canada I think. Not sure that would work for me. Drag Racing & Insurance: Does My Car Insurance Cover Me at the Racetrack? | Surex

    Racing Insurance and roll cage?

Yep. That's where I got that pic from. In Questions- FAQs, Hagerty says "not competitive events.". And they also say time trial events are ok but all on-track coverage is only for "HPDE events", which is a racing school... I still am having trouble believing there is anyone who offers...

    Racing Insurance and roll cage?

Agreed.. I can understand it ok on dune buggys and similar., and I would think Arizona would be a more accepting place for performance vehicles.

    Racing Insurance and roll cage?

Thanks., I saw that and from what I read HPDE stands for Hi Performance Driver Education, a road racing school where you bring your car. And looks like Track Day is timed laps on a road coarse. They also say something about auto-cross. I'm not interested in anything but pure drag racing on a...

    Racing Insurance and roll cage?

I'm sure this has been discussed many times here before but my searches didn't yield anything, plus things change. Let me first tell how this came up again with me.. While building my 68 charger (with an insurable, street legal "roll bar"), I did a good bit of researching on how I could best out...

Does anyone make a pre-bent through the package tray down leg for a B body roll bar?

I found out that almost any muffler shop can bend roll bar tubes, and cheap usually.

    which alternator?

I ended up with a Tuff Stuff chrome dual field 100 amp, it connected right to my M/H upgraded engine harness made for dual. No complaints. I switch my radiator e-fans off when I make a pass at the strip to keep the hp draw down.

    stock 440 shift light setting?

A very slow 8.7 et at 79mph. I would like to test it on a 1/4 but it has a vibration at about 85mph and up. I want to find and fix that first. Maybe Santa will bring me some aluminum heads and intake for Christmas so I can get some more hp.

    stock 440 shift light setting?

Well I went to the strip yesterday. Like I mentioned this is a bone stock 440 and I think it is probably the lowest hp 440 ever produced. It did ok shifting at 5200 but seemed to do a little better shifting a little before that. One main reason I need the tac light is because I don't want to...

    stock 440 shift light setting?

I'm running a fairly stock 440 in my 68 charger, headers, 750 brawler carb, 727 trans w/shift kit, 3.91 gears, 30.5" tires. Not sure about the comp ratio on the pistons. It is a mystery motor that I found and nobody knew the history on it. I didn't take the heads or intake off but replaced the...

    kill switch w/alternator questions

On my 440 street/strip charger I have a kill switch on my tail panel which kills the battery connection, but as I knew already the alternator keeps the motor running. I think I've heard if I disconnect the wires to the alternator the motor will then quit when the kill switch is turned off. My...
