I like tint personally for looks. However, I've got limmo all the way around and definitely hard, almost impossible, to see out sides n back at night. I roll down windows at night to back up, even in the winter.
My '67 Coronet has original factory undercoat as well. Sounds very similar to yours. However, when I inherited it, 26 yrs ago, I changed the shocks n springs and do not remember if the shocks had undercoat on them.
I've found the plastic clips for my trim, but am trying to find the metal ones that are at the end with the stud. I need 4. I don't know why Dodge put them on the trailing end of the trim, had 1 door trim pull loose while driving and just about ruin it. So I'm going to put another metal clip w...
I did my gratuitous search for trim removal and all I found was rocker panel trim and window trim removal. I purchased a plastic 21 piece trim removal kit yrs ago. Before I go prying into things, can someone here explain how to remove the trim that runs from front to rear of car in the center of...
To add to R413, before you pull the cable up, loop some stiff wire around it at the top near the antenna base. Then cut the wire just above it and pull the antenna wire down through the kick panel area. Then you can attach the stiff wire to the new antenna wire and pull it down into the car.
That's about what I paid for my new one on my 67. Original lasted 53 yrs going through who knows how many old and modern car washes. New one broke off on 1st car wash. I got a bit newer, I think '68 that has a removable antenna shaft, had to enlarge the hole in my fender just a bit and the...
My '67 has the original paint, El Paso TX sun for 29 yrs, Las Vegas sun for 18 yrs and Fort Mohave AZ sun since 2014. Always garaged, but still driven to work n parked in the sun. They never had modern, glass looking paint jobs to begin with. Clay bar it n wax it n enjoy it.
Probably look really good. And since it's a wrap, can be removed. Prohibitively expensive for me though. My '67 is still wearing original paint w 54 yr old fading n discoloring. I'm just gonna mask it and clear matte paint over it.
+1 for WD-40. Also cleans all the grease off your stainless BBQ grill, stainless appliances w/out streaks. It's hotrodder's equivalent to Windex for Greeks.
1967 Coronet 440 4dr. Inherited from my Great Grandmother. Never hit, no rust. I finally get it running and go to a local bar, park right in front. Some idiot w no insurance backs into left rear quarter. Small dent n paint damage but also dented the stainless trim. I can probably find a body...
Today's washes are actually easier than the 70's washes. But yes, my '03 Ram had antenna bent and bent the fender where it mounts. I now do the same, leave it finger tight.
1967 Dodge Coronet. Inherited from my great grandmother. I replaced almost everything on it. In 1997, someone broke the antenna off. I replaced it this year when I finally got life out of the way so I could get it on the road. It had been parked since '97. I replaced the antenna w a new one that...
