My fender tag has the L31 option but these were missing when I bought the car. I have been restoring the car to as original as possible, so I guess I should look into adding these. Holes long gone after body work etc so I will have to figure that out.
On the passenger side on the flat surface sticking out the numbers are the last 5 numbers of the vin (15149). Mine is a 69 Super Bee factory 4 speed numbers matching. Not sure this applies to your 68 RR or not.
I thought about attempting to buy it back and would certainly be interested had it not been restored. At this point it is car show and museum quality, and I do not have time for many shows nor do I have a good location to store and display at this point. But....never say never
Was perusing FB and somebody posted this on one of the mopar sites. I realized it could be the car I owned from the early 70's to 1988. Had a nice conversation and some email documentation. Basically I knew some things about the car that they confirmed (transmission 1970 model, I changed it...
Looks nice but I would definitely go look at it first. If no fender tag hopefully they have the build sheet. I assume not #'s matching, if the ad indicated it was I missed it. Also as others mentioned I'd look a the stampings to verify with VIN, etc.
It is a beautiful car.
Ok upon closer inspection the quarter had been replace including the trunk lip, so I guess they cut it out since it did not match this car. Job was a bit sloppy with filler, tho pretty straight. I'll be getting it stripped straightened and repaired.
factory a/c, bench seat, 4 speed, matching numbers....goal is to restore original as much as possible...probably have more in it that worth but I'm good with that, looking forward to the journey and keeping a little mopar history alive..
Some really good, some not so much. As I understand it previous owner that passed away was in process of restore. Engine and transmission (4 speed) have been rebuilt and are super clean. Not exactly back in order but engine compartment appears to have been restored and painted correct color...
Yeah seems could just be some sloppy work in that area. Just seems strange that part is cut out, but as you say there would be no use for it without the rest of it.
Still assessing the overall condition of the 69 Bee I purchased a couple weeks ago. Have verified VIN, engine, transmission, fender tag, and radiator core support are all matching.
The trunk lip area per the pic seems to have this area cut out. Appears previous, not so great work, done in...
