    I just did my 69 and they were loose as well. I found that after I removed them I squoze the clips together on the inner part, which allowed me to install them easily. Then once they were in place I used pliers and squoze the part you can see in your pic, hence tightening / opening the inner...

    I have often thought about drilling a hole into the base, screwing a small coarse screw into it, cutting off the head and building a stud over it out of something like JB weld. I haven't tried this yet but figured it would allow for torsion and not pop off being screwed in. I will give it a shot...

    I just found the remnants of my build sheet. It was stuffed into the clip that holds that brake line on the center section of the diff. It had a couple layers so it was folded into there. Damn, L.A. car, sure would have been nice to have one.

    Congratulations. That's a great score. Now......in my ignorance, I wasn't aware of the notches it the bores. What is the significance of these? I have seen a couple 413 blocks but never noticed or even paid attention.
