I did think the slots were antifreeze passages. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
There are 2 corresponding holes in the heads. The pins bottom out in one set, solid bottom and the other two holes, on each side, do go deep into the block. Once again my concern is that they may have coolant...
This 413 motor cylinder heads are ready for installation and prep work is near complete. My question is on the water passage through the slits in the gasket. I figured it’s ok because I see a lot of similar gaskets but I found this one on ebay that has much larger slots?
The other critical...
Second Opel Engineering, which I had sonic check a few engine blocks and pressurized one (which passed). I wasn’t quite ready for the rebuilding of an engine at the time and have since moved. Several friends did have their engines built there and had very good results. Hope this helps.
Your previous description on other threads was the catalyst to finding KY Clutch.
Maybe a swap meet or a want ad would produce a core for you Ed.
Heck, maybe KY has a core!
I’m having a stock rebuild of a ‘65 Chrysler 413 300L car that came with a 4-speed. The stock clutch assembly I wanted to stay with. So I found this place and decided to have the stock Borg and Beck clutch rebuilt by Kentucky Clutch. I sent this plate and disk to them last Friday. This may be of...
Google didn’t produce anything for me but when Bing was used this is what I found.
Surprise it’s listed as LH here in the advertising. That is interesting.
@AR67GTX
I’m interested in knowing information on your new bore scope. I spent a little time on YouTube and Google searching info. I tried out the cheapest Harbor Freight camera and returned it because I wanted something better. HF waived the 20% return fee, yeah! I didn’t realize they had a...
Recently the subject of the mid-80’s 302 swirl heads where brought to my attention. They will raise the compression a little but are basically useful for higher mpg. Stock cam, two barrel applications and a possible 25mpg at 70mph. Some folks say they could be hot rodded a bit.
What’s the...
On my ‘68 GTX, built 12-29-67 has the sales order # on the rear upper block lip by the oil sending unit. It not the vin. Sales order # is on the radiator support too and fender tag
Maybe take a few out.
Use a solid piece of electrical wire 12 gauge or coat hanger and try to measure the depth to make sure their even. Measure the bolt length too.
If it’s dirt or silicone those solid wire tools can scrap and break up the mass. Use a vacuum or air hose to clean out...
I had a leak on the driver’s side rear and what was found was old silicone was hardened (and taking up space) at the bottom of the bolt hole. Valvecover bolts had been torqued down to specs but didn’t go down far enough.
All the holes were cleaned and no leaks. Just a thought.
Excuse me, Bcamp69, I don’t mean to side track your subject. I had 906 heads ported by my machine shop neighbor who just kind of cleaned and gasket match them for $200. But he was a big block chevy guy.
Before I even used them I took em to an mopar (?) engine machine shop and they said the...
