I just emailed Gear Vendors yesterday about any delays to be expected due to supply chain issues before ordering. They replied they are a little backed up, but only about 8 weeks. Yep a coupon code would be nice. Even SMS offered I think 20% off certain things when the "scamdemic" was first...
1964-65 had the weird angled intake manifold mounting bolts. All had solid lifters until 1967. Then they used hydraulic lifters in 1968-69 like normal LA engines. I THINK they went to cast cranks in 1968-69. There might be variations in the number of the motor mount ears side to side. Three or...
I've had all the items to do mine since September of 2021. Multiple styles of seals, etc., etc. I've read all the how to's, watched videos, and noted the cases of repeated failures. I just don't want to go to the trouble to do it and have still it leak, lol. Not sure I really want to do this...
Hmm, I just took a complete functioning 8.25" out of my 1975 Coronet only because it has a slight gear whine from 45 mph and up. It has a track lock with 3.90 gears. I also have a semi complete 9.25" rear with a sure grip and 3.21 gears. I can't vouch for that one as I never put in it a car. It...
This earlier 8.25'' has the fill plug at the right side of the center section. Later ones had a more oval looking rear cover and have the fill plug relocated there.
I was looking to replace my 971 oil pan with a better one. Turns out these are hard to find nowadays. Van's has this one which looks like it might work: https://www.ebay.com/itm/174799885069?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Can anyone verify this? Thanks in advance!
I bought that same tool when I redid mine last September. A little pricey, maybe, but quite the time saver. Now do I keep it as I have only one 727, lol.
I bought that exact tool setup on eBay 6 months ago. I eliminated some driveline vibrations that were plaguing my car. Installed new Neapco 727 yoke, output shaft bushing and u-joint. The tool was a little pricey for probably the only time I'd need it. I will say though it made the whole ordeal...
Yes the stall speed helps. It's a great car to do burn outs in, lol. It shifts at 5800 1st to 2nd, and I think 5400 2nd to 3rd. Doesn't seem to pull hard after maybe 5500 or so. Since I just leave it in Drive and go, it will never reach the 6000 RPM limit set at the MSD box. Thank you for the...
That's what I have in mine, what I dubbed the "Retardmobile" going on almost 17 years now. I agree, this 270 dur .470 lift cam runs good although it's in a heavy car that is no rocket. Its only a 400 though, with a 727 (2500 stall) with 3.90 gears. Since I also have A/C and power brakes I felt...
Babyblue66: Is this the cam you had in it before you swapped it out for the Whiplash cam?:https://www.compcams.com/magnum-224-224-hydraulic-flat-cam-for-chrysler-383-440.html
Mine with 5800 rpm Hemi governor weights (stock governor springs though) shifts at 5800 rpm from 1st to 2nd and at 5300 rpm from 2nd to 3rd. I have the 6000 rpm pill/chip in the MSD box and I'll never reach that RPM limit by leaving it in drive and keeping it floored. Before I changed the...
This older thread had info for whatever it's worth:https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/383-stock-intake-manifolds-vs-edelbrock-performer.77891/
Correct. They combined the neutral safety start and backup light switch in 1969 and up. It looks like this
: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dcc-2932820 The outer pins are for the backup lights. The center pin is for the neutral safety start.
