Where does exterior paint stop and interior paint start?

This is the only pic I could find right now (of my car), but you pretty much use the holes for the door weather strip to mask off for interior paint. All the door jambs, hinge area, striker area are exterior color. Mask off at the weather strip line and paint everything inside that interior...

Ok body guys...here's the game plan

UPDATE...Scratches gone! Hey guys, over the last couple of months I have been working a lot of overtime, had a couple deaths in the family (my aunt, and my wife's grandfather), and my Mom has had surgery. That's why I haven't been around much, and my charger has been sitting since the...

Has anyone here used a 69 Camaro spoiler on their 68-70 Charger?

There are several threads on DC.com about Camaro spoiler. Here's a link to one thread with pics of 2nd generations with the spoiler installed. Not my cup of tea, but seems to be a popular mod. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,84324.0.html Jason

Ok body guys...here's the game plan

Sick!!!! Well, looks like I might be repainting my car. I was under it working on a power steering leak, and my 4 year old must have thought a big green Charger makes a good aircraft carrier for his die cast airplane. He started at the drivers door, went down the drivers quarter, across the...

Bright Blue Metallic Urethane and Primer?

For a cheaper paint, Nason is decent too, I have used it before. But Omni is pure garbage.....I didn't even use reducer with it, just paint/activator, and it was still poor coverage. Jason

Bright Blue Metallic Urethane and Primer?

Just a tip, if you plan on using Eastwood's (or Summit Racing's) paints/primers....they are re-labeled "Kirker" brand, and can be bought cheaper from... http://www.smartshoppersinc.com/index.html For a cheaper paint, kirker is decent...I think its better than omni (PPG's cheap brand) products...

Ok body guys...here's the game plan

Long over due update Well, I have been driving around the town I live in seeing how the car runs, and making a list of 'odds-n-ends' I need to do to drive around and enjoy this thing during summer/fall. One thing I noticed is my gauges are not accurate, I hooked up a mechanical temp gauge while...

    How much primer and paint?

Omni is thin as water (I know from experience), PPG may cost more, but you won't use as much of it as Omni. If you use omni, plan on buying twice the amount as you would PPG, to get full coverage. Another thing is they mix differently. PPG SS urethane reduces 1:1 (before adding...

    Paint questions?

I painted my car with Omni (solid color). It turned out well...but I will never use it again, it is very thin, luckily I had enough on hand to get the coverage I wanted. If you are dead set on using a lower line, I have had better luck with Nason (Dupont's cheaper brand), I have used there...

Ok body guys...here's the game plan

Thanks Jeff. About your polyester primer question....I highly recommend it, especially for a do-it yourselfer. Its basically a spray on filler to level everything out. As far as spraying it, its THICK. I bought a cheep spray gun with a 2.0 tip and still had to thin it 10% to get it to flow...

Ok body guys...here's the game plan

Here's some updated pics. I'm pretty much finished for now, got a few odds-n-ends to do (wiper blades, dome lens, fix a trans leak), but should have it ready to hit the road when spring hits. Just hope its some inspiration to some of you guys starting or mid-way through a project. I did...

    Dura-Glass vs Dyna De-Lite

Different parts stores carry different brands. The local parts house near me carries a lot of Evercoat products. Evercoat's fiberglass fillers are called Kitty Hair (short strand) and Tiger Hair (long strand). I have used the Kitty Hair before, and it's a good fiberglass filler. Jason

Ok body guys...here's the game plan

I will update soon, putting the interior in right now.... all I can say is repo parts suck....ain't nothing fitting right. Trim parts carpets suck, trim parts rear window trim sucks, have nice door panels (made by and upholster), but they are giving me a fit. But everything is looking pretty...

Ok body guys...here's the game plan

I don't think that's true about letting the paint cure for a year, I never heard that before.....but I could be wrong. On mine, it was epoxy primered, and that's it (look at pic on page 4, right after i painted it). I had plan on putting atleast one coat of paint on the roof, but when I began...

Ok body guys...here's the game plan

It was pretty straight forward, the hardest part on a Charger is the sail panel area (I spent a whole evening doing the passenger side, but after I conquered that, the driver's side went a lot quicker. Here's how I did it..... First off I sat the top on top of another car of mine outside in...

****update**** I decided to sell my '73 Rallye Charger, to finally finish my '69 RT I have been working on and off on for a few years. I got what I wanted for it, so I let it go. I ordered a lot of stuff (I'm sure I missed a thing or two) here's what I have ordered and from whom...
