I agree the gears are high. I have a '73 with a 360/4-speed and it had 3.23 gears, the pinion bearing seized up on it, so I just threw in an open 2.76 center section I had to get it back on the road, quick. Its like a pig taking off now, Its just a crusier, but I'd like to put 3.23 back in it...
I voted 6 months to a year (I hope!) Im about done with all bodywork, hoping to have it painted this spring/early summer. After that I will be installing drivetrain, and maybe will be able to take it for a spin.

Adeals is a good place....they are a goodmark and AMD distributor...they pretty much carry sheet metal, gas tanks/sending units, fuel/brake lines, front end rebuild kits, weather stripping, stuff like that.
They are usually a few bucks cheaper than most places, have reasonable shipping prices...
