ok guys, my mind has gone blank..
i to replace the drive shaft on my 72 satty, right now i have the small u-joint up, and a " bastard" u joint in the rear. i want to put the bigger u joints from and rear.
what do i need to tell shop that will build it , i know i need a new tail shaft for...
On the charger, I can take dome liberties, nothing matches on it,so I'm think mild restomod, the satty is all #s matching even origal paint, oi I try to keep it stock
trying to decide if i want to keep the rallye wheels and change to a 71 center cap and trim ring, or swap to american racing touque thrust, i really dont like the 72 and up center caps
the gold " rods" that you see are part on the new shifter, everything was hooked up with old shifter that broke. kick down worked perfect , but this shifter is totally different in how it is hooked up.. mapormarks has a column shift linkage , minus the bracket that bolts to trans, thinking about...
ok, so , im not n idiot after all, this is the kick down cable, i just cant seem to figure out how to hook it up..it was hooked up on the trans where the cable connected to gear selector..
wow, i feel like an idiot ! it looks like im looking at the cable that runs to the column gear shift indicator ! they had hooked it to the old shifter ..
now have to figure out trans lines, the new shifter hits it when going in to park
