very nice ! and i see it has all the correct body trim, that stuff is like hens teeth, i believe 1 year only and aluminum, most didnt survive, i hope you plan to reinstall !
and yes, the bottom of a 72 SSP was argent, regardless of body color
i might be wrong, but, the " speaker " hole on the drivers side rear deck i believe was also used as the mounting point for the rear defogger unit, so the hole was made to accept it. I dont think 2 rear speakers were common .
are you going back to the GY8? I thought about changing mine when I first got it, but , the longer i have it the more i like the GY8, and you dont see a whole bunch in this color
for what its worth, I pulled my door panels off and used peel and seal behind them also. made a big difference in sound and helps the ac that much more

My best friend ended up with this car, its in N, Ky now, and it is a BEAST, he trailered it to FL over the summer.
had to put new bearings in the rear end, but other than that it runs great and turns heads
