my tank had the internal vent tube that is attached to the roof of the tank come loose and would lay in the fuel when tank was full. would always put fuel on the ground after filling tank. was able to attach small fuel line to tube and have it near filler opening and problem stopped.
check your wire gauge size to match the correct connector.

i would first double check float levels and if they are good i would go to the four idle mixture screws (2 on each carb) on the outboards and ever so slightly turn maybe an 1/8 of a turn richer. doesn't take much to make a difference. see if this helps. as always make one change at a time and...
i like things on a budget so i went to joann fabrics store bought the correct width black elastic and the snap kit. then had my mom (an accomplished seamstress) sew it together for me. came out pretty good.
the whole heater box will have to come out. it is not that bad of a job. if you can cap the heater core before you remove it, it will keep things a lot happier in the interior.
i know some people have ground the tail off the rivet and when the dash frame is finished they have used glue to reinstall the tag with the head of the rivets.
i had a new tank and had this same problem. looked inside tank and found that there is a vent line to runs almost to the filler neck. that had come loose to where it was mounted to the top of tank. took some fuel line and stuck it on the vent tube and ran it up to just under the fill cap. no...
