Aftermarket A/C systems can have little challenges, and sometimes you can find nicer vents and stuff. I added some A/C stuff to my friend's car, while doing the 6.4 swap. I had already added the air when it had the gen-II hemi in it. Some of the aftermarket parts can be generic and a little...
Most cars in Hawaii and south of the border had them. All the S/S cars did, too. Special right vent-box, and plates to block the defroster slots were also part of the pkg. Real dash-delete plates are expensive.
Thanks. It sucks that I over-looked the heater control valve. I have to redo a bunch of stuff now. The bypass may actually make things a tiny bit easier for the retro-fit. TINY-bit. I have very little room to work with.
Black hose against cowl.
I have to install the aftermarket water-valve into my Gen-III conversion. On a 6.4, which hose is the output, and which is the input? Besides that, does it matter which hose is used to regulate the water in or out of the core? Is stopping the water in either hose, doing the same thing?
I just bought a used one, that looks great. It works on high and low....not med. Someone could make a small fortune, reproducing these things. I think Barney Rubble's brother, designed them.
Keep filling, watching/listening[watch for water and oil mixing], and replacing. My hemi kicked the same 2 outta the sides, when it froze. I was fortunate, and it only hurt a head gasket.
Go to your local "old-school" parts store, and have them let you bring hoses to see what'll work. Correct diameters and lengths/bends written down, and you can grab a few that are close. I'll never have a flex hose on my cars. It took me 2 days of trying hoses on each of my car builds that had...
You can fabricate anything. I've had several mish-mashed setups on various cars and engine setups. Some worked....some didn't. I had 4 complete systems on one car.[GRRRR]
