68 Charger RT auto here 5/16 line to pump and 1/4 from separator to tank. Not sure what the feed line is that has been mentioned. The pickup in the tank is 5/16. All metal line to the pump are still original.
I have melted down one set of raped headers and the FelPro block off plate is still holding up just fine. if you want to fill the intake passage use spray fire foam. Used mainly as fire break in building construction.
Yes and I have measured the thickness of both the new and old. Those were my first thought. I may find some foil and modelers clay and check the actual space. But not sure why that would change.
Who said anything about the primary plate not moving? This is not my first TQ by the way. Been messing them and their problems for years. This is just the first for this problem and very unexpected. Like if I can not see it it's not going to show up in a picture anyway.
Yes I realized that. It had been a long frustrating day.
So far the replacement carb is working fine. Was surprised it works at all as the engine it was pulled off of had not been started in 12 years. Just pulled it filled the bowls with fuel, tested accelerator pump and installed it.
I am not...
Yes but I was hoping someone with some TQ intelligence just might have experienced the same problem some where in the past and have a intelligent answer or suggestion.
But I understand we have to play 20 questions instead of reading.
Dam you people still like to jump to conclusions and can not read. Getting tired all ready of repeating stuff.
Accelerator works it will start. Run ok cold it warmed up and dies. No idle. Not going to repeat it again.
Carb made of two sections. Primaries that the engine runs off of likely 90% of the time. Contains the idle and run sections of the carb. Then there is the secondaries that kickin' with your foot to the floor.
This carb presently has no idle.
My patience was getting thin. Yes this was a working carb except for the accelerator pump.
Accelerator pump now works. But for the life of me have no idea why the primaries no longer exist. Secondaries work fine as well as wot.
For now I put a different carb on it. It runs fine. Got some fine...
76 TQ 9097. Replaced accelerator pump and needle and seats. Was not disassemble any farther than needed for parts replaced above. Now no primaries.
Everything was ok except the accelerator pump before I took it apart.
Yes it is getting fuel and there is fuel in the bowls at proper levels. Floats...
I am not sure your combination will be a good one but you will only be out a gasket set. With 3:23 gears you may never get to optimal single plane range except on Iowa's freeways. Hate that speed limit every time I cross the border.
