Been in the making for some time. The cities cash cow died. This is just away to dispose of it.
Don't be to surprised if another cash cow soon develops.
On the bright side we have a new facility just out side of Oak Grove Mo. It received its NHRA certificate just last month.
To think of all the time some spend on weight reduction. Weigh this, replace that with something lighter.
I use to run with the tool chest strapped in the trunk just behind the wheels.
No one was asking, can we examine your trunk.
If the vehicle rocks back and forth putting it in park and setting the park brake will not save it. I personally don't like tying down with straps unless it's the 18-wheeler flatbed trailer type. Still like my chains and binders.
Ok! how did the conversation get to breaking oil? Who in their right mind would continue the use of breaking oil? After all that is why it was always labeled breaking in oil with a scheduled change time to a regular zinc-based oil. Good grief!
I am not willing to take the chance on the minute amount saved on an oil change. Engine parts and rebuilds were expensive years ago and have not gotten any cheaper if you can even find a trusted shop to do the machine work. Valvoline Racing for me in all my flat tappet equipment.
it's also...
I have tried it and put it into the false info file just like the angled pug modification promoted years ago. I do believe the magazines will promote about anything to get people to spend their money. I still remember the early 70's when they were trying to tell everyone chrome would increase...
I remember something about the slinger removal. Was this something that occurred on 72 and up cast cranks? I have only had one apart in that time range and don't remember if it was there or not.
I know. You would think there would be a lbs. per cube class to run this old metal in. As to safety, they were never that safe to begin with. I got to drive the first and last front engine in the fall of 73. Twice down the track was enough fun for me.
Our local new motor sports complex is up at arms. Dirt track boys don't want to play friendly with drag racers and vise versa. The asphalt track for the roundy racers was converted to dirt and the drag strip was supposed to be open before fall. So far no dirt has been moved for the drag strip...
I wanted to drive that road this winter just to see what it was like but we were running out of time instead ended up taking 15 into Las Vegas.
I was wanting to take two weeks getting to Phenix this year instead of 5 days. Was still a beautiful trip. But many places were closed. There is always...
Limits on equipment depends upon what limits you feel safe with and exploring the limits of. I don't particular care to go beyond what I consider my safety factor, vehicle or clock. I don't need a bucket list of special parts to go have some fun. After all is that not what it is all about...
