Somewhere I have a photo of a '69 Road Runner in original paint I took in about 1980. The car had been hidden away in a garage undercover since 1970. I will try and find the photo, scan it and post today for you.
I had it done by Brown's in Chatham, Ontario (I see you are in Detroit). My car was painted 40 years ago with lacquer and they scanned it and mixed some single stage enamel to paint a set of wheels. I can see a slight difference, but only because I know what was done. Nobody else can pick it...
I removed all of the factory undercoating on my Charger years ago, by hand and elbow grease. Same process should work for Ziebart as well. I used Varsol (mineral spirits), scrapers and wire brush. What I found worked best was to thoroughly soak any area the day before, then scrape that area...
Years ago I came across a '69 Charger R/T in Toronto that was built green with a red interior. I tried to buy it for a few years just to get the red interior. The data plate was there and matched. 40 years later I wish I had taken a pic of it.
