Did you ever ascertain the temp gauge is reading correctly? Try the IR sensor. This crap would drive any normal person insane, feel your pain.

Although not very likely, you could also have the w/p impeller slipping on the shaft. Have heard of it happening, then your velocity goes down.

For your edification, whenever a condenser or evaporater core was replaced; it was recommended to add 1-2oz. of oil directly to that part. Reason is that some oil was always laying in the bottom and Freon going past would pickup a little and spread thru the system. There's also some oil in...

I just had to ‘google’ the difference; I’d try that clutch. Engine speed below 2500 it’s full on, then above that rpm it kinda slips along at 2500 but no more. Might take a little longer to warm up engine? Always knew they were put on some cars, but never saw/had one. Yours is free why not?

IMHO, I’d be making sure the housing is flat,flat. OE housing & thermostat housing and never a leak with a normal gasket & regular gasket sealer on both sides. Maybe I’m lucky?

Besides all the above good ideas, you could have an impeller that’s slipping in the w/p. Happens rarely, but just something to think about. Definitely a shroud will help& 7-blade fan.

IF you fill from the hi-side port with a can, it can explode! Make sure what you’re doing beforehand....

Overcharge is a possibility, but the press.relief valve should open & vent the excess. No oily spots anywhere(?) indicating a leak?

Water hose heat shrink is way thicker. It does work great.
