Here's my heater core story....bought a new aftermarket core from a fellow FABO, installed it and found the hose connection tubes almost an 1" too short...Trash. Ordered one from Advance, same issue with the tubes, returned for money back. Ordered one from Autozone..came only in aluminum...
My FSM says I have to remove the heater assembly to remove the core....seems to me I remember removing the core from my 67 Charger without removing the complete heater assembly.. of course that was 20 years ago, so I may be wrong.
Anyway, anybody chime in.

I think the no A/C issue had to do with the rear end gear ratio. 440 4 speed cars came with 3:54 Dana, which at high speed may over rev the compressor. The highest ratio available with A/C was 3:23.
