Some carbs have a fitting the flare nut seats into. I would use tape as a last resort. If it is the fitting there should be a seal between the fitting and carb . I would replace that first. If it is the flare look for cracks in the tube. If ok either fix the line or replace the fitting.
If you push it up and hold it up with a screwdriver, then crank the motor it should go up and down. Oil might be holding it. A small magnet through the plug hole should pull it down.
Call them. Do not wait for a e-mail to be answered. They clearly state what model pumps the kits fit. M6902, M6903, M4862, M6902 ,M6903. What model or part number pump do you have.
Those listings may not always be correct. Only way to be sure is to find both filter numbers that I listed and measure. My bets are if you found the OEM filters there is a difference. It may be the 1/4 inch. Problem is aftermarket says close enough and thats what you get.
Make notes as to where everything goes. Pictures help. Keep the primary parts separate of the secondary parts.Watch the gaskets closely as some kits have several different ones. Clean all the passages well. Its not rocket science.
