Depends on the type of restoration you are doing. I had all mine powder coated chassis black. I prefer to paint before installing the bushings and touch up later as needed. The quality of your job will depend on prep work. Blasting, cleaning and priming is a must in my opinion.
The rear spring front mount also had a reinforcement. Here is one photo and the floor along with rear shackle reinforcements. Lots of people have never seen these.
In my 69 parts manual they show both. Not sure if it was a time or model thing. The short ones are both the same. The long ones show as right and left.
Normally just grease the plastic bushings on assembly. You could put a fitting on the tube and pump it full of grease, but it most likely will get messy with engine heat.
