    Rough them up and use RTV. Two piece plates are the worse. I found that marking both sides of the plate for a gasket and then taking a dremel tool with a pointed carbide and grinding circles in the plate around the ports. This allows the RTV to have a area to bite into simulating an o-ring...

    My guess 5 would be 1975, T Trenton engine plant, 7-26 July 26 which could be early assembly for 75 model year.

    Is there a VIN above the right pan rail? How about numbers by the distributor area?

    Pictures are needed. There also should be casting dates. Also should have a VIN and numbers stamped by the distributor. That number has been brought up before and I believe it is a normal 1974 [aprox.] block.

    There were different foundries as I recall. There were different ways to identify them and the different changes. Do you know the part number? Googling the number may come up with the Mopar sales information.

    I thought they were. There were several versions of those blocks. I know my wedge had bolts but I upgraded to studs.

    I would think so. The center 3 mains are cross bolted. As I recall they used ARP bolts.

    Mark it and make the cuts. Take your time and clean it up when done.

    Just a regular cut off wheel. Make two careful cuts and the main piece is removed. Then clean it up. Its not a critical cut its just for clearance.

    That can easily be cut with a disc and then finished with a grinder, flapper, or carbide cutter.
