Poly Stroker on the Chassis Dyno

Oh yes I forgot to say that was with an older Wieand single plane intake. We are gonna go the Hinkles route and make an LSX intake fit

Poly Stroker on the Chassis Dyno

Great numbers from a 360ci Poly indeed! Yes you could have done a 440 build, but that's so 20th century... In the real world of drivable Mopars this sounds 'BANG-ON'! The cam looks very much like a 340 hipo spec so all good for the street. We have a 402ci Poly going into a 66 Coronet this...

    Fuel injection 318 poly

The new Poly intakes were sold out real quick! Guess they should have made more???:blah: You can't put any decent carb or injection kit on a 2bbl intake manifold.:realcrazy:

    Opinions on 440 setup

I get asked this question many times, as do most drag racers! What carb and what manifold under it? If I'm gonna street driving my Mopar with a 440ci then 500cfm two barrel is fine. When I go to the track its gotta be a 1050 Domi and the best manfiold in my collection... If you think of a...

    Harmonic balancers aka Dampers

Many thanx for the replies Guys! Found a decent looking PowerBond with additional weights for cast cranks and others for $89. The only drawback is $100 shipping to the UK plus taxes (for Feds pensions) DOH!:elmer:

    Cam for a 440 4 speed

Yes, very heavy pistons with lightened sixpack rods! All the info I have says the sixpacks in 1970 were 10.25? 9.75 will be perfect for E5 UK gas methinks... ps. we always say ''bleed of any excess compression with a mega cam''...:fool::usflag:

    Fuel injection 318 poly

Got to be a decent intake first! Try and find a new Dual plane from the Poly Guru, Gary Pavlovich and pals. Then a new 4 barrel carb and its easy peasy lemon squeezy! Some folks who have gone EFI have later ditched 'em. You can always make more power with a carby...

    Cam for a 440 4 speed

Sixpack spec, 1970 engine build we are copying here. Gonna be in the 10's comp. without a doubt. We have used all the cams available up to 0.500 lift and they is pretty tame! Just need to run a ten and all will be good...:blah: Best cam we ever used was a 590 MP, now that's gooden.

    Harmonic balancers aka Dampers

Hello Mopar folks, Where are we with 50 year old dampers aka HB's??? Just had one fail, as in slipped on the rubber ring. Are there any good factory stock looking dampers (for resto) being made these days? Any help greatly appreciated. GTXJon aka Poly John

    Cam for a 440 4 speed

Got to be an 'old skool' 509 Mopar cam for me! I've used several of the Lunatti VooDoo cams now and think the old cams are still better. Modern cams are made of chewing gum and fail more times than not. Just need to find one sitting on a shelf somewhere collecting dust...:bananaweed:

Harmonic balancer indentification help 440 1970

The sixpack rod also known as the TRUCK rod was available until 1980! All the UK Jensen Interceptor 440ci engines up until 1976 got the TRUCK rods. They were steel crank and low compression 8.2 to one pistons. They all used a standard damper no external weights as the cast piston was so light...

Harmonic balancer indentification help 440 1970

Nice thread guys! The 70 and 71 HP engines had the heavy 'sixpack' rods. My 71 GTX engine was rebuilt in the States and had a stock damper fitted. It had heavy rods and ugly bits welded on the crankshaft that look like they could fly off at any time! So I found a good usable original sixpack...

Burnout without blowing up a 727

I'm always amazed when I see this stuff! No one knew about sprag failure back in the 80's and 90's... I guess the sprags were still fairly new? Now its sprag failure on every street corner! I would NEVER use a 727 without a steel COPE front drum these days. I would never build a trans for...

    Mystery crank?

Not sure if all heavy duty flywheels of the mid sixties were this design? I am using the 413 Industrial steel crank in my D200 truck with a 440 block, as the 413 engine was actually a 1962 H/D casting 1852029. This is the same casting as the 413 Max wedge block and I was gobsmacked when I found...

    Mystery crank?

Industrial 413 crankshaft. It has a flywheel with a recessed register machined into back. It uses the outside diameter as the centering device not the usual one. It also has a reverse direction camshaft that has a huge gearwheel on the camshaft. How do I know lol? Building one into my 413...

    413 engine codes

Thread revival lol. What are the casting numbers for a 1964 426 wedge engine? Is it the same as the 413 as 2205697... I have a 1964 D200 that came with a big-block from the factory. The block was cracked and gone missing. If I can find a good 413 or 426 sounds like they have the same casting...

How much torque can a 833 handle.

Nice info Guys! I got two four speed cars and they both have 18 spliners but one has an 8-3/4! I guess you can break anything if you try hard enough lol... Only ever seen a few 4 speeds running fast on track and the gear changes sounded painful at best! Must learn how to 'power-shift' so I'm...
