    Old NASCAR was the best!

Nice replies Guys! Some folks memories are slightly wrong but that fact is it was BETTER back then! Even 65 C-Bodies got in to the mix, even though they never got the 426 hemi... So to make things right, my moparmate is gonna build a 65 Fury with a 528 hemi. He won't be doing any high speed...

    Old NASCAR was the best!

We have EV formula 1 in Europe. All it is,,, is a procession on whining scalextric cars! Sport in general has become BIG Bucks for the advertisers. They say that you could remove the crowds from games and still make money... We have our own memories of PAST MOPAR Glories, that the kids today...

    Old NASCAR was the best!

1969 was the best year in my book. After the 19 wins by the Charger 500, it was sidelined. But it did morph into the Daytona, NUFF SAID... SMOKING...

    Old NASCAR was the best!

Daytona 500, 2023. I think the fifth car has a modified hood? Apart from that that, THEY all look THE SAME! I haven't seen Nascar since the mid 2000's! NO POINT at all...

    Edelbrock HEMI heads

873hp and 777tq now we is talking Malex! Gonna be building a 528ci hemi next year with hopes of 700+hp. 4.500 bore and Indy heads. Was going to use the MP-M2 heads, but done a deal for them. The M2 head is the one to get (so I'm told) by the Superstock guys! Why did they not cast...

In 1963 which car manufacture dominated the NHRA?

Wonderful thread and brilliant memories of Superstock history. We all want it to be a Mopar that is 'king of the track'. But as we all know there was stiff competition from the other Detroit makers! This is what makes it so fantastic, everyone taking part and not a hemi dominated scene... I...

    Edelbrock HEMI heads

Think it was the early MP head that had the seat issues? The newer MP head is cast by Edelbrock aka the M2. It is slightly different, especially the exhaust port. They can been ported to the max, unlike the Indy heads! (So I've been told). John

    Found a 230 400 block at last!

OOPS, I just realised I'm on B-bods instead of A-bods. Easy mistake to make... The avatar shows my 512ci engine, now in a C-body Polara. What the heck, they is all Mopars to me...:bananaweed:

    Found a 230 400 block at last!

Mother Mopar knew it was a special block! That's why they put them REAL BIG numbers on it. It is still the 'best kept' secret in the world of High Horsepower blocks... They will take 1000hp PLUS, ask me how I know???:thankyou:

    Found a 230 400 block at last!

Ye of little faith! I looked everywhere for a 230 block and found this just by accident. We was looking on this pile, cos the yard owner said he had an early 400 block. He said ''it had been there for twenty years and it never rains here so it will be fine''! Guess what it had plugs in and still...

    modern max wedge powerhouse

Supercool! Nothing says 60's 'POWERHOUSE' more than a 'PERIOD' max-wedge intake lol...:usflag::luvplace: I'm gonna be using this Indy style intake on my 62-413ci maxie... This one on my 512 maxie

    modern max wedge powerhouse

On the matter of camshafts. I like my old school .650 crane roller from the 90’s lol. It ran good in my 452 iron headed motor with 13 to 1 comp. Will be using that in my 511ci for street strip work. Not sure if pump gas will work for me, but gas prices here are eye watering in the UK!

    modern max wedge powerhouse

What heads are you running bluefish? I am doing a 511ci for my 71-GTX with flat tops and wanted to stay factory iron. I had a set of Eddy maxwedge Victors but sold them. Shame really as I had an Indy cross ram too but decided it was not period doh. Gonna use the Indy cross ram on my 62 max...

    -71 B body stiffening

Nice work beeper! I have a 71 GTX myself. Those look like factory GTX strengthening plates and torque boxes? Have you fitted them yourself or did your car come with them? Obviously its a lengthened E-body floorpan for the 71 B-body...(hope thats right)? The 512ci engine in the 'avatar'...

    Next piece of the puzzle

Nice work indeed! I was just reading about ‘gasflow’ around and over the valve head, when it sits in the ‘piston pocket’... Says you should use a full curve on the tall side of the intake valve recess...? “Why you ask” Because the incoming charge hits the lip at the most crucial part of the...
