no idea what thermostat is in it or if the gauge is correct its just "as it came " from the states . was its first trip since getting it rego'd . 2 freeze plugs were "weaping" and needed replacing before they would pass it for rego have driven it around town for hours with the gauge not getting...

what is the normal operating temp range for a 383 b body ? after driving for 2 hours at roughly 50-60 mph my temp gauge was reading to the last line before hot ( it didn't overheat) is this ok ? ambient temp was 30-35 C( 86F-95F) has factory coolant recovery system

couple of threaded brass plugs ,won't cost much and its always better to be safe than sorry

and on the same subject is it possible to run just one belt instead of the two or will it scream ?

has anyone got a link for somewhere to buy the 2 "matched" belts for a stock 71 383 mag with air , mine are frayed. please don't tell me to go to the local "pep boys " or what ever , I've tried that at 3 places now and can't find 2 belts that are even close :BangHead:. I need a matched pair...
